Brandon Jacobs said he was "screwed up mentally" during the game against the Bears in Week 4. This past Sunday in the victory over the Texans, he appeared to be having much more fun.
Though Jacobs declined to go into specifics, it's clear to everyone, including offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, he's been much better on the field since his blowup against the Colts, which came after a cutback run that didn't please Tom Coughlin.
"When he’s running the way he’s running now, that’s what you’d like to see: more decisive," Gilbride told reporters Thursday. "He got more opportunities. He actually had been doing a good job for us – those short yardage plays, he’s been very effective. We get him back to the line of scrimmage and he’s been able to power his way over some people and make the first down for us, keep us on the field.
