While rookie running back Jahvid Best returned to practice Friday and is expected to start tomorrow against the Dallas Cowboys, his action could be limited.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Best has been hampered by injuries. Best has been fighting a turf toe problem for most of the season and now is dealing with a sore left shoulder.
Best hasn't been effective for awhile and you never know if a hard hit to the turf might cause additional problems with his shoulder. It's hard to sit him given his status as Detroit's main back, but if you have higher-ranked alternatives, it might be the best thing to do.
