After his last two seasons were cut short by injuries, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson employed a slightly different tactic in his offseason training this year. “I really approached weight training a lot more aggressively,” he said. “The past three or four years, I focused on conditioning to make sure my lungs were strong. But this year, I really focused on weight lifting to make sure I’m strong.”
Since coach Steve Spagnuolo apparently is going to have his players hitting regularly during training camp, that might prove to be a fortuitous move by Jackson. He took plenty of shots Saturday morning, when the Rams ran about 30 live tackling plays.
The team again is in full pads this morning at Rams Park.
