Week 16 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets (Fantasy Football 2023)

I hope you need this article for your fantasy football survival as we head into the second round of the playoffs. The theme of this week seemed to be a lack of production from the elite LBs. Quite a few of the guys not only failed to reach double-digit tackles, some didn't even hit the eight or nine mark. Not great timing for that type of production. I hope you either had a first-round bye or survived the week. We head into Week 16 and the bye weeks are behind us. Injuries and poor play? Not so much.

Below are this week's targets from your IDP waiver wire.

Linebacker

Khaleke Hudson, LB, Washington Commanders

Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas week without a little Mele Khaleke Hudson. As they say, Mele Khaleke Hudson is Hawaii’s way of saying, “I need a full-time LB today.” Admit it, you sang that part.

Jamin Davis is on IR, and I wrote up David Mayo as the next man up. Well, the Commanders fired Jack Del Rio and realized that it was David Mayo. Mayo was relegated to special teams in Week 15.

Hudson was on the field for 85% of the snaps and produced a 21.9% tackle rate resulting in 14 tackles. Hudson was all over the field and made his presence felt right away early in the first.

Hudson hits the gap and sheds the block to get the tackle on Kyren Williams:

Hudson bounced back from a poor outing in Week 13 where he missed on two tackles. Hudson produced 0.34 fantasy points per snap with his 85% snap rate and looks to be the full-time LB2 opposite Cody Barton. Coming out of Del Rio’s firing, the Commanders are still deploying 2-LB packages.
