Scouting report

by Brandon Niles

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Rob Housler vs. Detroit
Rob Housler caught one of two passes thrown his way last week against the Rams and he should be considered a very low end backup TE until he proves otherwise. While demonstrating athletic ability early in his career, Housler has failed to live up to expectations thus far and fantasy owners should leave him on waivers.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Rob Housler vs. St. Louis
Rob Housler didn’t catch a pass last week and he remains in a backup role in Arizona behind John Carlson. He seems to be fending off rookie Troy Niklas on the depth chart, but he hasn’t done anything worth noting for fantasy owners, and he should remain on the waiver wire.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Rob Housler vs. Dallas
Rob Housler didn’t catch a pass last week but he seems to be getting more snaps than rookie Troy Niklas, which bodes well for his roster spot, but still doesn’t make much of a difference for fantasy owners. Housler remains behind John Carlson in the starting lineup and the TE position hasn’t been fantasy relevant in Arizona for years. There’s no reason to add Housler to your fantasy roster at this point.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Rob Housler vs. Philadelphia
Rob Housler has outplayed rookie Troy Niklas so far this season, but he’s still second on the depth chart behind John Carlson and he only had one catch for seven yards last week in a win over the Raiders. Housler doesn’t seem likely to suddenly expand his role in the offense, and until that happens, he has virtually no fantasy value.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Rob Housler vs. Oakland
Rob Housler had two catches and 15 yards last week against Washington, but there’s no reason to expect his production to increase moving forward. He remains behind John Carlson in the starting lineup and he’s battling for the second spot with rookie Troy Niklas. Fantasy owners should leave Housler on waivers.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 – Rob Housler vs. San Francisco
Rob Housler was beat out for the starting job and now looks to be losing the backup job to rookie Troy Niklas. Housler played last week, but failed to catch a pass and he does not look to be a valid fantasy option for owners in any league. Housler used to be a trendy pick as a breakout candidate, but what a difference a year makes. Housler isn’t worth rostering right now and his already minimal value looks to only be decreasing.

ARI TE Rob Housler - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 – Rob Housler vs. New York Giants
Rob Housler had only one catch and 16 yards last week in a win over the San Diego Chargers. The athletic Housler has failed to distinguish himself over newcomer and starter John Carlson and until he shows he can put up some consistent production, there’s no reason for fantasy owners to have Housler on a roster.
