A rare intra-division trade: Dolphins are trading WR Isaiah Ford to the New England Patriots, per source.

Related players: Lynn Bowden Jr., Malcolm Perry, Antonio Callaway

Fantasy Impact: 

ESPN believes Ford should provide an experienced option for a depleted Patriots receiver group and he has the versatility to play both outside and slot receiver. He's mostly played the slot this season. The Patriots have been in need of reinforcements as Julian Edelman (knee) is on injured reserve and N'Keal Harry missed Sunday's loss against the Buffalo Bills. They have elevated undrafted free agent Isaiah Zuber from the practice squad four different times this year.

Meanwhile for the Dolphins, it could open the door for a trio of young players they would like to evaluate there the rest of the season: rookie third-round pick Bowden Jr., rookie seventh-round pick Perry and practice squad receiver Callaway who saw his NFL suspension expire this week and is a likely candidate to be elevated to the 53-man roster soon, an ESPN story said.

Tua Tagovailoa enjoys utilizing quick receivers with route-running ability. DeVante Parker and Preston Williams are clearly the team’s No. 1 and 2 wideouts, but Isaiah Ford might be one of the better route runners on the team.

Fantasy Impact: 

Ford relies on his speed and got off to a solid start this season, including a career-best seven-catch, 76 yard-performance against the Bills in Week 2. As the story also said, he has cooled off since and didn’t register a target against the Jets. Ford will be looking to bounce back against the Rams, who are tough defensively both up front and in the secondary. He's a name to keep an eye on and could potentially click with Tua this week.

Raiders WR Henry Ruggs (knee, hamstring, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 4. Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 4. With Edwards out and Ruggs likely out, the best play in the Las Vegas passing game (other than Darren Waller) is Hunter Renfrow, a prime Sneaky Start for Week 4. He posted 6-84-1 last week against the Pats and is facing a Bills defense that has been shredded in the slot, yielding 9-107-1 to Cooper Kupp, 7-76 to Isaiah Ford and 7-115-1 to Jamison Crowder over the first three weeks. Renfrow closed last season with 7-107-1 against the Chargers and 6-102-1 against the Broncos, so he has produced when called upon.
