Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman broke a bone in his foot, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. The belief is that he will be out for a while but Edelman could return before the season is over.
Obviously those aren't very specific timetables and it will be something owners will have to continue to monitor as the information comes in. Edelman was not happy after the play where he injured the foot, throwing his helmet walking to the bench and leading viewers to believe it was at least somewhat serious. Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell could see more significant roles going forward. The broadcast team mentioned that Amendola was seeing an Edelman-like role as the game went on. He may be a popular target on the wire this week.
