DraftKings Week 3 GPP Breakdown

Below are the top candidates at each position to have exposure to in tournaments on DraftKings in Week 3. Taking a look at our ownership projections, it’s clear that the Colts-Chargers game will command a disproportionate amount of overall ownership. We project Andrew Luck and Philip Rivers to combine for over 20% of ownership, with Marcus Mariota and Ryan Tannehill accounting for another 18% due to matchup. This leaves a lot of high-upside QBs with low ownership, so I think the high-leverage move this week is to go almost fully contrarian at QB, which differs from Weeks 1-2, when mainstream options like Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, and Cam Newton paid dividends.

QB

Ben Roethlisberger $7,300 @ PHI

Likely to be owned in fewer lineups than his upside suggests he should, Roethlisberger’s Steelers have a implied total of 25 on the road against an Eagles defense that will be down a starting cornerback (Leodis McKelvin) and hasn’t been tested much yet, having faced only Robert Griffin III and Jay Cutler so far. After checking in at 3% ownership on FantasyAces on Thursday, Roethlisberger’s ownership projects to be low, perhaps due to posting unfavorable road splits as of late. Those splits may be overblown, however, as Big Ben has thrown for 300+ yards and 3 TDs in each of his past two road games against the Browns and Redskins, while earlier struggles can be attributed to a brutal road schedule that included the Broncos, Seahawks, Bengals, Patriots, and Rams.
