Scouting report

CHI WR Santonio Holmes - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Santonio Holmes - Week 8 vs. New England
Bears receivers outside of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery have a combined 13-100-1 on the season. There are simply too many other mouths to feed in the Bears' offense.

CHI WR Santonio Holmes - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Santonio Holmes - Week 6 vs. Atlanta
Santonio Holmes has just seven receptions for 56 yards on the season. He doesn't see enough targets behind Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte. He's not worth a look in fantasy.

CHI WR Santonio Holmes - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Santonio Holmes - Week 4 vs. Green Bay

Santonio Holmes had an increase in playing time due to Brandon Marshall's absence, but he didn't do much with it. Holmes caught two passes for just nine yards in Week 3 on three targets.

He was on the field for over half of the team's offensive snaps, but he's not getting enough looks in this offense. Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte are all ahead of him in terms of getting targets. He's not worth a look in fantasy.

CHI WR Santonio Holmes - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Santonio Holmes - Week 3 vs. New York Jets

Through two games this season Santonio Holmes has been pretty consistent. In each game he's caught two passes for 21 yards and 20 yards, respectively. He did see a lot of playing time in Week 2 as he was on the field for 73 percent of the Bears' offensive snaps. But he was only targeted twice on a night where Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery were battling injuries.

Holmes simply isn't a major part of the Bears' offense and shouldn't be viewed as a viable option. He's not worth a look this week.

CHI WR Santonio Holmes - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Santonio Holmes - Week 2 vs. San Francisco

Update
Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are listed as questionable for Sunday night's game. If they both players don't play, Holmes could be worth a flier considering the Bears have to throw to somebody.
End Update

Santonio Holmes saw five targets in Week 1, just one less than Alshon Jeffery. He didn't make the most of it however as he caught just two passes for 21 yards. Holmes saw increased playing time due to injuries to both Brandon Marshall and Jeffery. Until we see something else out of Holmes, he's not worth consideration in fantasy.
