Scouting report

PIT TE Ladarius Green - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Dallas
Green will likely be activated by the Steelers on Saturday and make his debut with the team. Dallas has allowed quarterbacks to complete 47 of 53 pass attempts to opposing tight ends this season. That makes Green an attractive sleeper play. He can get down the field, something the Steelers have been missing at the position,.

PIT TE Ladarius Green - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Green comes to the Steelers as the replacement for retired Heath Miller, but he's also something of a replacement for Martavis Bryant. The Steelers signed Green to be a downfield threat, and his 14.1 yards per catch average for his career suggests that the big tight end can do that. He had 37 catches on 63 targets last season in San Diego and should push his target total to the 80 that Miller had last season, if not more. A season with 50 or more catches, which would shatter his career high is certainly within sight. That should put him in range of being a top-10 fantasy tight end, if he ever comes off the PUP list.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Oakland
Ladarius Green caught just two balls for 13 yards last week on three targets. He's a lower-end TE2 option, but realistically, Green just hasn't been a big factor since Week 7. Since that point, in six games, he's averaging less than two catches a game so he's just not a safe fantasy option.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami
Ladarius Green caught two balls for 26 yards last week on six targets. He comes in ranked as a TE2 option at 21st on our list. The Dolphins are 15th in allowing fantasy points to TEs and with all the injuries the Bolts have at WR, Green could get some targets in this game. However, he's just not a safe play outside of very deep leagues in what is likely a win-or-go-home playoff game for owners.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Jacksonville
Ladarius Green caught just one ball for nine yards last week on three targets. Green was having a pretty nice season before getting hurt in Week 8. He was out for Week 9, but his last two games he's seen just two catches for 19 yards on four targets total. He's a risky play as even a TE2 despite a nice matchup against the Jags.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Kansas City
Ladarius Green is expected to play this week after being inactive in Week 9. The timing is good as Antonio Gates still isn't 100-percent heading into Week 11. Gates seems likely to play and that will cap Green's potential as a result. However, he's still a TE2 option in what isn't all that great of a matchup against the Chiefs, who are fourth in allowing fantasy points to TEs. With the WR group banged up, the Charger TEs certainly have a chance to produce fantasy numbers, however.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Chicago
Ladarius Green had just one catch for 10 yards last week. It was his only target in a tough matchup before leaving with injury. This week's matchup isn't much better as the Bears are seventh in allowing fantasy points to the position. It fact, it's the start of a very tough stretch of TE matchups. Green is still a TE2 option and the loss of Keenan Allen for the year could mean Green gets a bump in targets, which could lead to more production. He's also listed as questionable, so he should be benched this week as he's a risky play even if he is able to suit up.
