Scouting report

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New York Jets
Gary Barnidge gets BFF Josh McCown back this week. McCown and Barnidge were a top duo last season, and made the tight end a Pro Bowl player after years of irrelevancy.

Barnidge has already been pretty solid this season, and we expect his numbers to increase a little bit with McCown at QB. He'll also get a favorable matchup against the Jets in Week 8, and is in TE1 territory, especially in PPR formats.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Cincinnati
The Patriots ripped apart the Bengals last week with their tight ends, but there's obviously no guarantee the same will happen with Gary Barnidge in Week 7. There's a chance for success, however, especially if Terrelle Pryor misses time.

Barnidge has been solid this season, although he's still seeking his first touchdown. We like the Browns tight end as a TE1 play this week in a favorable matchup.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Gary Barnidge - Week 6 vs. Tennessee
Gary Barnidge hasn't caught a touchdown this season, but he's still been productive. He's been more of a PPR tight end as he's now caught 5+ passes in each of his last three games.

Barnidge gets a decent matchup against the Titans this week, but we don't expect him to go wild. He'll likely put up similar numbers to what he's doing, and if he finds the endzone then it's just a bonus. He's a low-end TE1 play.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
After somewhat of a slow start to the season, Gary Barnidge has been usable in PPR formats, as he finished with seven receptions last week. He's not getting anywhere near the production he had a season ago, but he's still been one of the better options at his position this year.

Barnidge will get a decent matchup against the Patriots this week. New England has allowed at least six receptions or 50 yards to the position in the last three weeks, so Barnidge should have some production. He'll be a low-end TE1 play.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Washington
Gary Barnidge had his best game of the season last week with Cody Kessler/Terrelle Pryor at quarterback. He caught five-of-six targets for 66 yards. It's not a great stat line, but it's encouraging to see him improving.

We're not big fans of Barnidge this week, but there's a lack of talent at the position overall. Barnidge will at least (likely) do something, which makes him a low-end TE1.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Miami
After posting a goose egg in Week 1, Gary Barnidge bounced back with a 4-for-37 effort in Week 2. It wasn't a great performance, but at least it was something. Now, he'll play with rookie quarterback Cody Kessler and could become a safety net considering the lack of depth at the receiver position.

We're not in love with Barnidge this week, but there's enough to like about him to make him a low-end TE1 play.

CLE TE Gary Barnidge - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Baltimore
A pro bowl tight end last year, Gary Barnidge upset fantasy owners with a big ol' goose egg in Week 1. Luckily for him, he'll be getting Josh McCown this week after RGIII was placed on injured reserve.

Last season, Barnidge averaged 80 receiving yards and 0.75 touchdowns on 5.8 receptions in games with McCown. Those are really good numbers, and something that's likely to continue this season.

This isn't a great matchup, but we still like Barnidge as a TE1 play this week.
