The Patriots are expected to sign former Cowboys star RB Ezekiel Elliott to a 1-year deal worth up to $6M after his successful FA visit earlier in camp.

Elliott is expected to take on a Damien Harris-type role in the Patriots offense, a role that saw Harris collect about 9-10 carries a game last season in 11 games. He ran for 4.36 YPA and added three TDs. Although older than Harris, Elliott could potentially see a similar workload, and he also has some pass-catching ability as well. Still, Elliott will likely be tough to trust even as a flex, at least early in the season until we see his role.

Stevenson has been in the role from the start of camp, according to reports. One can concluded it's looking more and more like he could split the work with Harris, much like he did last year, but also earn the targets. That would make him a better fantasy value than Harris.

There's still no clear timetable for RB James White's return from hip surgery, per source.

It's possible he remains on PUP to start the season, but the Patriots still have a few more weeks to evaluate his recovery and decide if he's ready to practice before the end of preseason, the tweet went on to say.
