CLE WR Kenny Britt - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Jets

The Browns' receiving corps has been a bit of a mess this season. A running back leads them in yards with a tight end in second. Kenny Britt, who is the team's No. 1 receiver, is fourth on the team in yards with just 121 through four games. He's also been inefficient, catching 8-of-23 targets.

Britt is probably your most reliable option at receiver for the Browns, but that's not saying much. He gets a favorable matchup this week against the Jets, but it's hard to trust him considering his output this season. He's a low-end WR4, at best.

CLE WR Kenny Britt - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Kenny Britt had 2 catches in his first two games combined, but had a decent outing last week against the Colts, recording a 38-yard catch along with a score, but he only caught 3-of-10 targets.

Britt will likely continue to be the team's No. 1 wideout simply because there aren't many better options, but he's been very unreliable in 2017. Part of it is his fault, and another part is the struggling QB play of rookie DeShone Kizer.

He gets a decent matchup this week against the Bengals, but he's not much more than a WR4 option.

CLE WR Kenny Britt - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Indianapolis Colts

Kenny Britt has been one of the worst free agent signings of 2017. After being a 1,000-yard receiver in 2016, he's been awful in 2017. Not only are his stats bad, 2 receptions for 15 yards through two games, but the film shows him not even trying on most of his routes.

He gets a favorable matchup this week, but why would you want to start someone in fantasy who has 1 reception in each of the first two games? There's really no reason to trust Britt, and it's best to just avoid him.

CLE WR Kenny Britt - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Baltimore Ravens

Kenny Britt finished last week with just 1 catch for 13 yards on 3 targets. He also had one critical drop that drew the ire of coach Hue Jackson, who said Britt could be in danger of losing his starting role in the offense.

The Browns don't really have anyone else to go to, but it's certainly not good news that Britt could be in the doghouse after just one week. Even if he's fine in Week 2, he doesn't particularly have a good matchup, as the Ravens were tough against the pass in Week 1. Britt should be viewed as a WR4 with limited upside.

CLE WR Kenny Britt - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Kenny Britt comes to the Browns after a 1,000-yard season with the Rams. He's the No. 1 WR in the offense and should be a nice veteran presence at receiver for rookie DeShone Kizer in his first NFL start.

He doesn't get a great matchup this week, as the Steelers were pretty tough against wideouts last season, allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points to the position. The Steelers only gave up 9 receiving TDs to wideouts in 2016, the second-fewest in the league.

Britt could end up having a decent season in Cleveland, but Week 1 could be a struggle. He should be viewed as a WR3/WR4 against Pittsburgh.

CLE WR Kenny Britt - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Kenny Britt managed to have a 1,000-yard season despite having Case Keenum and Jared Goff as his quarterbacks (he also played in 15 games). He headed to Cleveland this offseason where he’ll replace Terrelle Pryor as the top receiving threat in the offense.

The most impressive part about Britt last year was just how consistent he was. Excluding Week 15, when he left early with an injury, Britt had at least four receptions or 40 yards in every game. While those numbers don’t jump out, it’s good production from someone who can be the WR3 or WR4 on your fantasy squadron.

Fantasy Downside

Not often do you see a player in his eighth season set career-highs, so Britt will have to prove last year wasn’t a fluke. He could have a hard time doing so in the Browns’ offense, which is run-heavy and features one of the worst quarterback groups in the league.

2017 Bottom Line

Britt isn’t a sexy pick, but he could end up being a late-round steal. He was a surprise standout player just a year ago, and if he’s able to maintain a similar level of success, he could be an every-week starter, depending on your league settings.

LA WR Kenny Britt - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Arizona
Kenny Britt caught one of four targets for 15 yards in the Rams' Week 16 loss to the 49ers. He left the game in the third quarter after aggravating an existing shoulder injury, which explains why he didn't have a bigger day. Still, he went over 1,000 yards receiving for the year and was quietly one of the Rams' best players this season. Britt currently ranks as our WR39 for Week 17 but didn't practice earlier this week and might not suit up on Sunday. If he's held out, Tavon Austin and Brian Quick would benefit from Britt's absence, but neither would be on the fantasy radar.

LA WR Kenny Britt - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. San Francisco
Kenny Britt caught four-of-eight targets for 50 yards in the Rams' Week 15 loss to the Seahawks. He remains just 13 yards shy of 1,000 yards on the season and continues to be the team's No. 1 receiver. That said, with no running game and no quality production from the quarterback position, Britt is a risky fantasy play. He does have a great matchup on Saturday when the Rams host the 49ers, who rank No. 30 against fantasy receivers this season, but he's a dart-throw FLEX option. Britt ranks as our WR26 for Week 16.

LA WR Kenny Britt - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Seattle
Kenny Britt caught seven-of-12 targets for 82 yards in the Rams' Week 14 loss to the Falcons. He once again racked up plenty of yards in garbage time after Atlanta build a 42-0 lead in the second half. Regardless, he's 63 yards shy of reaching the 1,000-yard receiving mark this season and is quietly having the best year of his career. Unfortunately for fantasy owners who have utilized him as a FLEX play for the past month or so, Britt will face Seattle's secondary on Thursday night when the Rams visit the Seahawks. Ranked as our WR37 for Week 15, we suggest you find a better FLEX option than Britt this week.

LA WR Kenny Britt - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta
Kenny Britt caught two-of-six targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Patriots. Fantasy owners that rolled the dice on Britt as a WR3 had to be regretting the decision until he caught a 66-yard bomb in garbage time. He then finished the drive with a one-yard reception to give the Rams their lone score of the day. Los Angeles hosts Atlanta on Sunday and with the Falcons' No. 1 corner Desmond Trufant out for the year, Britt will be another dart-throw WR3 option for Week 14. He ranks as our WR31 for this week.
