LV WR DeSean Jackson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Kansas City Chiefs

DeSean Jackson was held to one catch and 14 yards last week against Washington. He’s always a threat for a big play, but it’s hard to know when it’s going to happen. As such, he’s too volatile to have on fantasy rosters at this point in his career. Leave him on waivers.

LV WR DeSean Jackson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Washington Football Team

DeSean Jackson caught three of four balls for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. He has long catches of 56 yards and 38 yards in his three games with the Raiders so far, and he still has the ability to make plays downfield, despite turning 35 this week. Still, his production has been sporadic for years, and it’s difficult to trust him in lineups. We have him ranked outside starter territory, and he should be considered a massive boom-or-bust WR3 option at best.

Week 7 vs Lions

With bye weeks come difficult decisions such as rostering and playing DeSean Jackson. He is fourth on the Rams in air yards but is only seeing an average of 2.3 targets per week. If you have to play Jackson this week, Godspeed.

LAR WR DeSean Jackson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Cardinals

Jackson had his best week as a Ram Week 3, collecting three catches for 120 yards and a score. His speed still plays as he showed his ability to run past defenders despite being 35 years old. A limited role may benefit the veteran in an effort to keep him healthy all season, but if he were to find a way to surpass Van Jefferson on the team’s depth chart he would be in consideration as a top 50 receiver weekly. Until then Jackson is more of a DFS target than a season-long option.

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati
DeSean Jackson had a better Week 2 after being held to two receptions Week 1. Against the Rams, he had six catches for 64 yards. You might have been expecting those numbers to be his floor and hope they aren't his average. But QB Carson Wentz is struggling and still has trouble connecting with his receivers on a regular basis.

Jackson will face a Bengals who are 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. This might be a chance for the wide receivers to get some fantasy points considering the Cincy defense is still below average.

We haven't seen too much from Jackson yet and with the way the Eagles offense is designed, it's hard to trust he can be a consistent factor. Start Jackson for Week 3 because of the matchup but he only rates a WR3 or Flex against the Bengals.

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Los Angeles Rams
DeSean Jackson is the No. 1 wide receiver for the Eagles and even though he was targeted seven times, he ended up with only two receptions. The Philly offense wasn't good and even though Jackson got playing time, he couldn't connect with QB Carson Wentz enough.

Jackson will face the Rams who are eighth in aFPA to wide receivers. We don't expect much this week as CB Jalen Ramsey could make sure Jackson is not a factor. Keep Jackson on the bench for Week 2. The tight ends and running backs will be the offensive weapons who will benefit the most in this game.

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Washington
DeSean Jackson has a fast start in 2019 only to end up missing 13 games. The veteran receiver returned to Philly and was going to be a key part of the Eagles passing game, but had to watch QB Carson Wentz have a career season.

Jackson will face Washington who was 24th in aFPA to wide receivers. In one of the games he did play, was the opener against Washington where he had 8 catches for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns so the history is good.

It's hard to pick an Eagles receiver who will shine because the tight ends and running backs get so much attention. Jackson will have his moments and for Week 1, we rank him a low-end WR3 or Flex.

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Atlanta
Welcome home, DeSean Jackson. The veteran wide receiver returned to Philly with a bang, Jackson caught eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns and probably had one of the more surprising performances of Week 1. Jackson's speed is still there despite being 32 years old.

The Eagles will face the Falcons on the road and Atlanta was 20th in aFPA to wide receivers after one week. This is a pretty good matchup for Philly and the Eagles passing game.

Jackson's fantasy stock skyrocketed after one game. He rates a high-end WR3 or flex for Week 2. Pick him up if he still available as he will have fantasy value with the only downside being all the weapons in Philadelphia are going to split up the riches,

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Washington
DeSean Jackson is back in Philadelphia after spending several seasons with Washington and Tampa Bay. His last season with the Eagles was his best. He had 82 receptions for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. He has struggled to get close to those numbers the past several seasons, but the Eagles feel he will be effective stretching the field.

Jackson will face the Redskins who were 17th in aFPA to wide receivers in 2018. Although, we think Jackson will have an impact this season, he should be on the bench for Week 1. He is good depth and will have weeks where is in the lineup, but not in the opener.

PHI WR DeSean Jackson - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Desean Jackson returns to Philadelphia and should make an impact on the Eagles offense. Jackson has led the NFL in yard per catch four times during his career including last season, and Philly lacked that deep threat in 2018. He will serve as the No. 2 receiver and have many opportunities in the passing game.

Fantasy Downside
The Eagles offense revolves around the tight ends more than the wide receivers. Although Jackson will be on the field a lot, there are only so many balls to go around. His health and age also could be an issue as he has not played a full season since 2013. He will help the Eagles but only as a third or fourth option in the passing game.

2019 Bottom Line
Jackson should be drafted as depth only. His ADP is 115 and unless your league has a yard per catch category, he will be limited to 50 catches and 825 yards on the season. The main issue is Jackson’s role in the offense where he will be used to stretch the opposing defense in order to open things up for other receivers.
