Week 17 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Tyler Allgeier has started taking over as more of the lead back in Atlanta, diminishing the value of Cordarrelle Patterson in Atlanta. He had just 8 carries last week against the Ravens. He does have a better matchup this week against Arizona, but as long as Atlanta keeps looking Allgeier's way, Patterson is a flex play at best this week.
Week 16 at Baltimore Ravens
Cordarrelle Patterson scored his first touchdown since Week 9 last week against the Saints. Patterson remains in a time-share with Tyler Allgeier and is facing a tough Baltimore defense in Week 16. With Atlanta's offense still not very explosive, and with the stakes getting higher in the playoffs, Patterson is a low-end risky flex play, but still at least a good chance to get you some rushing yards. He has at least 50 rushing yards n four straight games.
Week 15 at New Orleans Saints
Cordarrelle Patterson remains in a timeshare with Tyler Allgeier and hasn't scored in four weeks before the bye. Will he see more work with the change in quarterback to Desmond Ridder? That remains to be seen. What Patterson would like to see is a repeat performance of Week 1, when he rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. But with Allgeier now involved in the offense, he likely won't see 22 carries as he did in Week 1. He does still get involved in the passing game, giving him a bump over Allgeier, making him a flex option for Week 15.
Week 13 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Cordarrelle Patterson continues to have the edge if deciding on an Atlanta running back with his return ability and his pass game work, but it's a straight committee between him and Tyler Allgeier. The Steelers have been around the league average in stopping the run, so Patterson should get some opportunities this week on the ground and in the passing game. But at this point, expectations have to be tempered with Patterson, so consider him a flex option.
Week 12 at Washington Commanders
Cordarrelle Patterson established himself as one of the greatest kick returners in NFL history with his record-setting 9th kickoff return touchdown. That's great if your league counts return yardage, but otherwise, his fantasy value has been limited since returning from injury as the Falcons continue to work Tyler Allgeier into the mix. He also faces a tough Washington run defense, putting him as a flex option at best.
Week 11 vs. Chicago Bears
The ugliness that was the Thursday night Panthers-Falcons game affected Cordarrelle Patterson as well. Or is Tyler Allgeier starting to take back the RB1 role in Atlanta? Patterson saw just six touches in Week 10 for 20 yards. Maybe he'll see better results against a Bears defense that ranks 26th in Rush DVOA, but this looks like a committee now that's in favor of Allgeier.
Week 10 at Carolina Panthers
Cordarrelle Patterson returned last week after missing four games while on injured reserve and found the end zone twice against the Chargers. He saw 15 touches in that game as Tyler Allgeier was still a factor, but the Falcons have their playmaker back. He should start getting more involved in the passing game soon, but he looks ready to take back the lead role among the Falcons running backs, making him a solid RB2 option against a reeling Panthers team that just got shredded by Joe Mixon.
Week 4 vs. Cleveland Browns
So far, Tyler Allgeier has not dug into Cordarrelle Patterson's workload at all. Patterson already has two games with over 100 rushing yards and is the clear RB1 in Atlanta. That status alone makes him very valuable and is a borderline RB1 this week against the Browns who rank 26th in rushing DVOA. Patterson is near matchup proof with how versatile he is in Atlanta's offense.
Week 3 at Seattle Seahawks
Week 2 saw much more of a split in the backfield between Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier, with both seeing 10 rushing attempts. Patterson will still be involved more in the passing game, but if the Falcons are going to start using Allgeier more, Patterson's ceiling will be limited. However, he does have a matchup against the league's 25th-ranked rush defense through two weeks in Seattle, so there's some potential this week for Patterson. He's still worth a flex start in PPR leagues this week.
Week 2 at Los Angeles Rams
Cordarrelle Patterson became the featured back after Damien Williams left with an injury. Patterson wound up seeing 22 carries and 25 touches against the Saints. The only other Falcons running back to see touches against the Saints was Avery Williams, with three. Rookie Tyler Allgeier was inactive. If Damien Williams can't go, Patterson is in line to see a ton of touches yet again. Allgeier may be active this time, but the Falcons are still going to work Patterson a lot, though it will be tough sledding against the Rams. With all the volume Patterson is likely to get, he's a solid RB2 this week, even in a tough matchup.
