SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Baltimore
C.J. Prosise moves into the backup role with Rashaad Penny expected to be out. He had four touches last week, but don't expect much more as the Seahawks have Chris Carson playing as a three-down back.

Prosise is not worth picking up in any leagues as Penny is not expected to be out for a long time.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Arizona
C.J. Prosise has been limited so far in 2019 with his role as the third running back, but with Rashaad Penny out injured, Prosise has a resume that includes being used many different ways, including the starter, by the Seahawks.

The Cardinals are the next opponent and have been very good against the run. They are ranked 2nd in aFPA to running backs.

We expect the Seahawks to use Prosise like they used Penny so 15 touches are not out of the question. But it's not quite enough to get him in your starting lineup.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

C.J. Prosise is in the mix in the Seahawks' running back rotation. The third-year player is a dual-threat who can help in the run and passing game. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry in his rookie season.

Fantasy Downside

Prosise has not been able to stay on the field, having played in only 11 games in two seasons. He has 64 total career touches.

2018 Bottom Line

If he makes the Seahawks roster, Prosise will not have any fantasy impact. He will most likely be the third back and is currently our No. 77 ranked RB. He isn't—and shouldn't—be drafted.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Arizona Cardinals

C.J. Prosise has not played since October 22nd and has 14 touches this season. However, the Seahawks think he is healthy enough to play on Thursday.

He will back up Thomas Rawls, but could see some time as the third-down back. Until we see some actual results, though, Prosise should remain on the waiver wire, but keep an eye on him.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. San Francisco 49ers

C.J. Prosise only received four touches Week 1 and could end up being the odd man out of the Seattle backfield. Chris Carson looks like he is the No. 2 behind Thomas Rawls. Many people drafted Prosise figuring he would be in the Seattle's backfield mix, but that might not be the case. Sunday will tell us more.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Green Bay Packers

C.J. Prosise will be a part of the offense but how much is still undetermined. It really is a three-headed monster at running back for the Seahawks, and Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls will get their share of the touches with Prosise.

We do think Prosise will be the third-down back, which elevates his value slightly in PPR leagues, but for Week 1, keep him on the bench until we see how Seattle uses all three backs in a regular season game.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

The Seahawks running back situation could get confusing for fantasy owners. C.J. Prosise is one of those players who could end being gold or bust. With Eddie Lacy the starter on paper, Prosise figures to be the top backup, but more importantly, the full-time third-down back. This will elevate his value in PPR leagues.

Fantasy Downside

Prosise only played in six games last season because of injuries. He also has a pedigree as a wide receiver so there might not be many carries for the former Notre Dame star. He has potential, but with zero track record and heavy competition, it's hard to say where he falls in the fantasy running back pool.

2017 Bottom Line

There's uncertainty surrounding Prosise's role in the Seahawks' running game, but we know he will play on third downs. We have him ranked as our RB53 in standard leagues and RB47 in PPR. Even with the snaps on third down, he is strictly depth, but would make for a nice handcuff to Lacy in case he takes over as the primary back. His ADP has him going in the 12th round, which sounds about right for him.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Philadelphia
There have been a lot of developments with the Seattle running back situation as of late. Christine Michael was abruptly waived and RB Thomas Rawls will be active for the first time since Week 2. C.J. Prosise should still be the primary back after rushing for 66 yards on 17 carries and seven receptions for 87 yards. Once Rawls gets up to speed, Prosise should still be involved, especially on third down situations and passing downs.

For Week 11, Prosise has a tough matchup against Philly who is seventh in aFPA to running backs. Even with Rawls taking away some touches, Prosise should still be in your starting lineup as an RB2.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New England
The big question for C.J. Prosise is when will Thomas Rawls return? It appears the Seahawks will use Prosise in a combo situation with Christine Michael which would mean a platoon situation. Not good for fantasy owners because of lack of touches and uncertainty.

Prosise will get enough snaps to play this week as a high-end RB3 or flex, probably more than Michael. So if you are looking for waiver wire move, Prosise could be a short-term answer.

SEA RB C.J. Prosise - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
C.J. Prosise had a great senior season at Notre Dame which made him into a third round draft pick of Seattle. He most likely will be the backup for Thomas Rawls and if Rawls is not 100% healthy after a broken ankle, Prosise could get early-down carries. When Prosise is most likely to see the football is on third down. He was a proficient pass catcher for the Irish (actually started his career as a wide receiver) and actually led the team in reception yardage average in 2014.

Fantasy Downside
He's a rookie and you never know what a rookie's role will be until the season actually starts. Veteran Christine Michael's experience gives him an edge over Prosise so if the rookie struggles in training camp, Prosise could end up being the third back on the depth chart.

2016 Bottom Line
It looks good for Prosise to get some carries this season and more important, some receptions on third down. Overall, he is late round draft pick that might have some more value in a PPR league if he is consistently the third down back. Rawls is going to be given every opportunity to be a top 10 back in the league so Prosise might have to sit back and wait his rookie season. Definitely has sleeper potential if Rawls is not healthy, but don't take him any earlier than the 13th round.
