Week 17 at Detroit Lions
Brett Hundley had just 130 yards passing last week and also threw 2 interceptions as his favorite target, Davante Adams, did not play. Now, Jordy Nelson is also out—not that Hundley used him. Hundley shouldn't be in your lineup, even on a bet, even though his best games have come away from home.
Week 16 vs. Minnesota Vikings
With Aaron Rodgers now back on IR, Brett Hundley takes over the reigns again for Green Bay. Yes, he threw 3 touchdown passes in two of his final three starts. But he had 84 yards sandwiched between those two games. Hundley should not be in your lineup against a tough Minnesota defense.
Week 14 at Cleveland Browns
Brett Hundley threw for 84 yards and an interception last week in a win over Tampa Bay. There's always hope in a game against Cleveland, but let's be honest, you're not starting Hundley in a playoff week even though he did run the ball 7 times for 66 yards. There's nothing trustworthy here.
Week 13 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Brett Hundley looked like a real, live NFL quarterback last week, throwing for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Steelers, matching his high for yards and setting a new mark for touchdowns. Tampa has allowed at least 262 passing yards in all but one game this season and 18 touchdown passes overall. Hundley is making progress and has weapons. But he's a QB2 option this week in two-quarterback leagues.
Week 12 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Brett Hundley topped 200 yards passing for the third consecutive game last week, throwing for 239 yards. That's a low bar for the Packers passing game, but that's where we are. Unfortunately, he also threw 3 interceptions and fumbled once as Green Bay was shut out at home. Now, he gets to go on the road to face a Pittsburgh defense that has been even more stingy. That doesn't bode well for Hundley. He should not be in your lineup.
Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens
Brett Hundley threw for 212 yards and a touchdown last week, his first TD pass in the past three games. He also scrambled twice for 16 yards. Hundley has had a passing or rushing TD in each game in which he has played, so he hasn't been completely worthless. But it's a struggle and there are far better options available. The Ravens haven't allowed more than 218 passing yards in a game since Week 3. Hundley is unlikely to end that streak.
Week 10 at Chicago Bears
Brett Hundley threw for 245 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions but did rush for a touchdown and added 22 yards on 4 carries. That's probably about the best you can hope for from Aaron Rodgers' replacement. The Bears haven't given up a touchdown pass in their past three games, and only one passer has put up more than 300 yards against them. Hundley is not someone who should be in your lineup.
Week 9 vs. Detroit Lions
Brett Hundley threw for just 83 yards two weeks ago at New Orleans, and he also threw an interception. He did rush for 44 yards and a touchdown, though, but he's far from a sure thing, even after getting another week of work during the bye week. Even with six teams on a bye, Hundley isn't worth having in the lineup.
Week 7 vs. New Orleans Saints
With Aaron Rodgers getting hurt early against the Vikings, Hundley came in and threw for 157 yard and 1 touchdown, but he also threw 3 interceptions. There's no doubt he's a downgrade from Rodgers but just about any quarterback would be. Hundley has great weapons and has a very solid matchup this week against a New Orleans defense ranked 25th in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. With a week of practice getting the majority of the snaps, he could be a sneaky start this week. It's a leap of faith, but aren't a lot of things?
