For me it comes down to two things. Guice vs Rojo and will Davis live up to the hype? Im an LSU fan soove Guice and think he could be the next Beast Mode. He didnt cstch many passes in college but thats not really a facet of the LSU offense. Rojo was the highest rated RB coming out of college and also didnt catch any passes. I think both backs are capable pass catchers but lose touches on 3rd down. Abholor broke out last year and thrives in the slot, no reason to think he wont post similar numbers with maybe slight TD regression. Love Corey Davis but view Mariota as a Dak like player. Take what is there, dont force anything. Doesnt have the gunslinger mentality of Stafford. If Mariota is like Dak am I wrong to compare Davis to Dez last season? I love Davis a lot, just wondering if he will ever live up to the hype thats been created?? Is he ever going to be a Marvin Jones 80/1000/8 kind of guy?? Talent is there, but he would need to see 140+ targets for that to happen and I cant decide if that will happen. New regime in Tenn def has to help. I think 65/750/6 is more realistic. So as of now I have Guice/Rojo a matter of preference... Agholor>Davis a d then theres Jack who is a 3 down LB now. Whats your take? Ill
Go ahead and say Im team A. I traded Karl Joseph for Mariota but I love Guice and am trying to buy him. He loves Myles Jack/Jarrad Davis. Trying to find a way to buy Guice. He only has 1 TE in Gesicki but I only have Doyle/Butt/Kittle. Thought about overpaying but sending Jack/Kittle for Guice. That would have me stacked at RB. Could always buy a young TE like RSJ or pick up Jonnu/Ian Thomas/Mark Andrews and wait and hope one develops
Hard to know what's in store for the Tennessee offense under new leadership, but I like the arm talent of Mariota enough to think he could continue to improve as a passer and fantasy option. That makes me a little more bullish on his receiving corps.
Ultimately, for me this trade comes down to who you like better, Guice or Jones. I'm a big Guice fan, and I think he solves a lot of the running problems that have plagued Washington for awhile now. I would go with that side of the trade based on Guice alone, and then just hope that Davis' ceiling is worth more than the production you get from Nelson and Jack.
