WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Dallas Cowboys

Ricky Seals-Jones led all Washington players in targets last week (7) and finished 4-29. Seals-Jones has been OK this year as he's filled in for an injured Logan Thomas. But Seals-Jones suffered an injury himself and has appeared to be somewhat limited since. In the games he started earlier in the year, he played at least 90% in all of them. The past two weeks he's played just 46% and 60%. There are many better options at tight end heading into Week 16, so we wouldn't recommend Seals-Jones. He's outside of our top 20 at the position this week.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Philadelphia Eagles

Ricky Seals-Jones returned from injury last week, but not in full capacity. He played on just 46% of the offensive snaps, and finished 1-8-0 on four targets. Seals-Jones was a solid streaming option earlier in the year when Logan Thomas was hurt, but he appeared to be somewhat limited last week. He's an interesting option this week since he faces an Eagles defense that's given up the most average fantasy points to opposing tight ends, but he also has plenty of risk. Washington's QB situation is a mess due to COVID, and Seals-Jones is coming off of a one-catch game. We have Seals-Jones ranked outside of our top 20 tight ends for Week 15.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Dallas Cowboys

The bad news for Washington: Logan Thomas is out again with a season-ending injury. The good news: Ricky Seals-Jones might return. RSJ got in some limited practices last week and has been limited again this week. With Thomas' injury, it seems as if Washington may want RSJ to play so they have someone to fill that spot. RSJ looked solid in the games he started earlier in the year, averaging 4.3-40.5-0.3 (not counting the game he left early). He'll have TE2 appeal in an OK matchup vs. the Cowboys. If RSJ can't go, then John Bates is the next man up.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ricky Seals-Jones struggled in his last matchup, finishing 2-12 on four targets. It's the first bad game we've seen from the tight end since he took over the starting role. Although it's not a surprise given the tough matchup. He gets a much better matchup this week as the Bucs have allowed the 8th-most average fantasy points to tight ends this season. Seals-Jones should be viewed as a low-end TE1 play in Week 10.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Denver Broncos

Ricky Seals-Jones continues to produce in Logan Thomas' absence. In his last three games, Seals-Jones has finished 5-41, 4-58-1 and 6-51 while averaging 7.3 targets. Not bad for a tight end without a history of being productive. In fact, his last three games rank among his 11 best receiving yards games of his career. He could struggle a bit this week, however, in a tough matchup against the Broncos. Denver is fifth in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to tight ends. The biggest reason why is Denver has yet to allow a touchdown to a tight end all season. Seals-Jones is slightly outside of our top 15 tight ends for the week.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Green Bay Packers

Ricky Seals-Jones was able to turn in another solid game last week, finishing 4-58-1 on six targets while playing on 100% of the offensive snaps. He is dealing with a quad injury that left him out of practice Wednesday, but he returned with a limited session on Thursday. We'd expect him to play this week in a favorable matchup against the Packers who are 29th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Seals-Jones should finish in that 40-50 yard range again, making him a top 10 tight end play in Week 7.

WAS TE Ricky Seals-Jones - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Ricky Seals-Jones saw a solid nine targets last week, finishing 5-41-0. Seals-Jones is an interesting option in Week 6 as he faces a Chiefs defense that's allowed the most receiving yards to tight ends this year. And coming off a nine-target game gives him even more intrigue. But he's also someone who just 11 career games over 30 receiving yards in 46 games played. Still, with the tight end position being so shallow, Seals-Jones offers enough appeal to be a viable low-end TE1 in Week 6.
