MIA QB Josh Rosen - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Washington Redskins

Fresh off of a bye, Josh Rosen gets a favorable matchup against the Redskins. Washington has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, so there's reason for a little optimism in Miami. Still, Rosen is averaging less than 200 passing yards in his two starts and has thrown just one touchdown in those outings. He might be a cheap DFS Hail Mary play, but in redraft leagues there are likely better options available on waivers.

MIA QB Josh Rosen - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Josh Rosen's first start with the Dolphins didn't go so great. He completed less than half of his passes, finished with 200 yards and no touchdowns. The good news, however, is he didn't turn the ball over. He also ran for 13 yards, so that's something. He plays the Chargers this week, who have allowed seven passing touchdowns to quarterbacks (tied for fourth-most in the league). But we can't recommend Rosen. None of the quarterbacks in Miami have accomplished anything all year, so don't expect them to this week.

MIA QB Josh Rosen - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas Cowboys

For some reason, the Dolphins have decided to go with Josh Rosen at quarterback. Because clearly all of their problems were Ryan Fitzpatrick's fault. Rosen has made appearances in garbage time of both games this season, and has looked really bad in them. He's completing 38% of his passes and has thrown two interceptions in 21 attempts. He also has not thrown a touchdown. Miami is not good, and your fantasy team will not be good if you start Josh Rosen this week.

MIA QB Josh Rosen - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Josh Rosen was the 10th overall pick just a year ago and he finds a new home this offseason in Miami. He’s projected to earn the starting quarterback job and has had a full year of experience and an offseason to develop his professional game.

Fantasy Downside
Rosen struggled as a rookie, finishing with 11 touchdowns and 19 turnovers in 14 games. He completed just 55% of his passes and averaged 172 passing yards per start. Football Outsiders ranked him last in DYAR (defense-adjusted yards above replacement) among 34 QBs with 200+ attempts.

2019 Bottom Line
We don’t even know if Rosen will earn the starting job as Miami signed Ryan Fitzpatrick in the offseason. Fitzpatrick was actually one of the best fantasy options for a while in 2018, and could earn the starting job. But even if Rosen was guaranteed the starting job in Miami, there isn’t much to like here. He’s a developing player in a bad offense on a rebuilding team. There are so many other quarterbacks with higher potential this season.

ARI QB Josh Rosen - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seattle Seahawks

Josh Rosen has struggled to keep his job over the past few weeks, and he had only 87 yards passing before Mike Glennon took over to finish out the game. Rosen will be the primary topic in any coaching interviews for the Cardinals, as Steve Wilks’ tenure is likely to last this single season. Rosen remains worth holding on to in dynasty formats in case he can make a Goff-like turnaround with a new coaching staff, but he has no value in redraft leagues.

ARI QB Josh Rosen - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Josh Rosen looked terrible against the Falcons last week. In what should’ve been an easy matchup for the rookie, he completed only 59 percent of his passes for a mere 132 yards with a pair of interceptions – including a pick-six. He was benched for Mike Glennon. While he’ll get the start again this week against the Rams, there’s no reason to think he’ll be able to put up viable fantasy numbers, and he has no value in non-dynasty leagues.

ARI QB Josh Rosen - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Atlanta Falcons

Josh Rosen continues to be underwhelming. He threw for only 240 yards and a pick against the Lions last week in an ugly offensive game, and there’s no reason to think he’s suddenly going to become a consistent fantasy option this late in the season. Dynasty league owners should keep him around for the long term, but right now, he belongs on waivers, regardless of a nice matchup this week against the Falcons.
