TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. San Francisco 49ers
Jeremy McNichols is splitting pass-catching work with Dontrell Hilliard behind clear lead back D'Onta Foreman. McNichols saw nine touches and gained 51 yards in Week 15, and his floor is virtually nonexistent in such a limited role. McNichols is barely worth rostering in most leagues and can be dropped for someone with more upside if you like what's on waivers for the playoffs.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Jeremy McNichols returned from injury in Week 14 to a nominal role behind D'Onta Foreman, only registering eight carries and a single target that he could not haul in. McNichols will continue to mix in behind Foreman this week against Pittsburgh, but his limited usage makes him an unexciting fantasy prospect. McNichols typically makes noise in the passing game and without more targets directed at the RBs in Tennessee, he will be waiver wire material until further notice.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New England Patriots
Jeremy McNichols missed Week 11 with a concussion, but looks poised for a potential return this week. The Titans' injury reports will have to be monitored all week to get a real idea of how things will shake out in their backfield Sunday, but even if McNichols returns he will presumably split work with both D'Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard in a difficult matchup on the road facing the Patriots. Check back in over the weekend to get an idea of McNichols's status, but he's a low-floor, low-upside play regardless of his health as one part of a full-blown committee that will likely suffer from a negative game script.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Houston Texans
Jeremy McNichols has a defined role in the Tennessee backfield but is looking questionable with a concussion after he missed practice this week. McNichols will be a risky starter even if he's active, and the injury concern is enough to take him off the fantasy radar for Week 11. Find other options at RB this week, and consider rostering one of McNichols's backfield colleagues (D'Onta Foreman and Adrian Peterson) as a decent starting option should McNichols sit on Sunday.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New Orleans Saints
It looks like the Titans plan to use a fairly predictable committee approach in the backfield following the loss of Derrick Henry. Adrian Peterson is the lead back on early downs and near the goal line, and Jeremy McNichols appears to have a hold on passing down duties and some change-of-pace carries throughout the game. McNichols saw seven carries to Peterson's 10, but got three out of the four targets seen by RBs against the Rams in Week 9. McNichols will struggle to score touchdowns in his current role, but he could have some fantasy viability in PPR leagues when the Titans are forced to throw. McNichols should probably be left on the bench against the Colts in Week 10, but he could be desperate flex play if you're dealing with byes or injuries.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Los Angeles Rams
How the Tennessee backfield shakes out following the serious injury to Derrick Henry is one of the more intriguing fantasy questions on the Week 9 slate. The loss of Henry leaves a gaping void on the Titans' backfield, and it seems unlikely that they would rely on one back to fill it. That being said, Jeremy McNichols looks to be in solid position to absorb a significant amount of the work that normally goes to Henry. McNichols is in his second season with the Titans and knows the offensive system better than any other back on the roster. He already had a small role in the passing game with Henry healthy and should maintain an expanded version of that role following the signing of Adrian Peterson. The early-down work is where things get interesting. If McNichols can hold off Peterson for carries as well as pass routes and targets, he would have massive upside in an offense that loves to run the ball. However, a more likely scenario is Peterson absorbing much of the early-down rushing while McNichols enters on third down and other passing situations. That scenario would render either back as nothing more than a flex option until we see how roles shake out post-Henry.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jeremy McNichols's Week 4 line jumps off the page on his game log. McNichols saw a whopping 12 targets, catching eight of them for 74 yards plus an 11-yard carry on the ground. McNichols's big day was entirely the product of the Titans being in an unexpected negative game script against the Jets last Sunday, as he typically only sees a couple of touches working behind workhorse Derrick Henry. That game script is extremely unlikely to repeat this week when the Titans travel to take on a reeling Jaguar team. McNichols's Week 4 performance will likely go down as his best fantasy day of the season. His only fantasy value is in being an insurance policy for Henry.
