KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Miami Dolphins

Patrick Mahomes is coming off of the worst fantasy performance of his career. Despite a favorable matchup against the Broncos (a team he was 12-0 against before), Mahomes finished with 241 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions and a fumble. Mahomes reportedly was dealing with the flu heading into the game, which may have impacted his performance. While it's definitely disappointing, we wouldn't hit the panic button on Mahomes. Literally the week before he threw for over 400 yards with four touchdowns. Mahomes should bounce back this week against the Dolphins (25th aFPA) in what could be a high-scoring game between two of the best offenses in the league. Mahomes is a must-start QB1 in Week 9.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Denver Broncos

Patrick Mahomes had his best game of the season last week as he threw for 424 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. He also added 29 yards on the ground. As expected, Mahomes has been one of the best options at quarterback this season as he's currently QB3 in fantasy. He should have another successful outing as he faces the Broncos (30th aFPA) this week. Mahomes faced Denver just a few weeks ago and threw for 306 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Mahomes should be viewed as a must-start option at QB in Week 8.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Patrick Mahomes had a decent outing last week, finishing with 306 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He also added 31 yards on the ground. Owners may have wanted a little more out of Mahomes considering the matchup vs. the Broncos, but 300+ yards isn't bad. Mahomes draws another favorable matchup this week against the Chargers who are 32nd in aFPA QBs. Mahomes played well against the Chargers last season with games of two touchdowns and three touchdowns with no interceptions in either outing. Mahomes is an easy must-start option at QB in Week 7.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Denver Broncos

Patrick Mahomes got back on track with another solid outing in Week 5, finishing with 281 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers. Although for the first time this season, Mahomes finished with no rush yards. Mahomes hasn't been completely lights out this season like in past years. In fact he's averaging a career-low 257.4 yards per game so far. But he's scored multiple touchdowns in all but one game and is QB6 so far, so we doubt fantasy owners are complaining too much. This week he draws a matchup against the Broncos who notably gave up 70 points to the Dolphins this season. Denver is 31st in aFPA to QBs, so Mahomes is certainly in a good position. In fact, the only negative about Mahomes this week is that the Chiefs may score too many points leading to him exiting early or running more often. Having said all of that, Mahomes is a clear must-start QB in Week 6.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Minnesota Vikings

Patrick Mahomes had his worst game of the season in Week 4 as he finished with a season-low 203 yards with just one touchdown and two interceptions. It's the first time he's finished without multiple touchdowns in a game this season. On the plus side, though, Mahomes ran for 51 yards in the game and he's now up to 154 rush yards on the season. At this rate, he's on pace for over 650 rushing yards which would crush his previous career high of 381. As for Week 5, though, Mahomes draws a good matchup vs. the Vikings (19th aFPA). Minnesota has given up six passing touchdowns to QBs this season with only one interception. Mahomes should be viewed as a must-start QB1 in Week 5.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New York Jets

Patrick Mahomes lit up the scoreboard in Week 3 as he finished with 272 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He even added 28 yards on the ground as well. It was an impressive showing considering Mahomes only played on 73% of the offensive snaps after exiting early due to a blowout. Mahomes has now scored multiple touchdowns in every game this season while averaging 267.7 pass yards and 34.3 rush yards. This week he faces a talented Jets defense, but not a shutdown defense. Mahomes should continue to put up big numbers as he should be viewed as a must-start option at QB in Week 4.

KC QB Patrick Mahomes - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Chicago Bears

Patrick Mahomes had a typical Mahomes stat line in Week 2 as he threw for 305 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 30 yards, which is notable considering he ran for 45 yards in Week 1. His 75 rush yards so far this season places third among quarterbacks behind only Daniel Jones and Lamar Jackson. Mahomes gets a favorable matchup this week against the Bears where he should be able to continue his high level of production. He should be viewed as a must-start QB in Week 3.
