Week 11 at San Francisco 49ers

KeeSean Johnson had four targets against the Buccaneers last week, but he failed to record a reception and has only two games with more than 30 yards this season – none above 50 yards. Until Johnson shows some production, he remains a dynasty-stash only in large formats. He should stay on waivers in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

KeeSean Johnson found the end zone for the first time in his career last week against the 49ers. However, he only gained 22 yards on a pair of receptions and was a distant third in offensive snaps among Cardinals wide receivers behind Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald. Johnson has a great matchup this week against the Buccaneers, who just allowed big numbers to Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf last week, but being at least third on the depth chart makes him hard to trust. In crazy deep leagues, he might have some desperation potential due to the matchup, but he’s better off on waivers in most formats.

Week 8 at New Orleans Saints

KeeSean Johnson’s snap count dropped down to eight percent last week against the Giants, and he finished with one catch on two targets for six yards. Johnson continues to have some stash value in dynasty formats, but until he shows he can produce or even outplay journeymen like Damiere Byrd and Pharoh Cooper, he should stay on waivers in most leagues.

Week 7 at New York Giants

The buzz about KeeSean Johnson has been prevalent for months now and he’s been on the field a considerable amount – even more than Larry Fitzgerald in the last two games with Christian Kirk sidelined – but he’s yet to produce any kind of fantasy numbers. Despite the opportunity, he’s averaging just 2.7 receptions and 24.2 yards per game and has yet to find the end zone. He’s worth stashing on deep rosters because he’s so young and the team appears to like him, but he shouldn’t be in lineups until he proves he can produce, even in what looks like a good matchup this week against the Giants.

Week 6 vs. Atlanta Falcons

KeeSean Johnson only caught three balls for 22 yards last week against the Bengals. However, he was targeted seven times and played 95% of the team’s offensive snaps. Johnson definitely benefited from Christian Kirk missing the game, but it was important to see the way the Cardinals view the rookie when they were down a receiver. This week, Kirk should be back, so Johnson is too much of a gamble to bank on. However, if Kirk misses his second consecutive game, Johnson could be worth a dart throw in large leagues as he faces a Falcons defense that ranks dead last in aFPA to opposing wide receivers.

ARI WR KeeSean Johnson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Cincinnati Bengals

KeeSean Johnson caught two of the three balls thrown his way last week against the Seahawks, finishing with 19 yards. The Cardinals struggled against the Seattle defense that featured a healthy defensive line for the first time this season. Johnson has shown flashes but continues to underwhelm as a fantasy option. He has some upside in a nice matchup against the Bengals this week, particularly if Christian Kirk is inactive with an ankle injury but is too risky to trust in all but the deepest of leagues. If Kirk is out and Damiere Byrd misses his second straight game, Johnson could wind up being the third-most targeted Cardinal, giving him some value as a desperation starter. Only if the stars align, however, and in most leagues, he should remain on waivers.

ARI WR KeeSean Johnson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks

KeeSean Johnson had only 13 yards last week against the Panthers on three receptions. He was on the field for 48% of the team’s offensive snaps, which is a good sign after 32% in Week 2, but he’s too risky to use up a roster spot in most leagues. Dynasty players might hold him in case of an injury or in case he’s the heir-apparent to Larry Fitzgerald – if he ever retires – but he’s worth very little in most leagues as long as Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are the primary receiving weapons. He’s also being heavily out-snapped by Damiere Byrd.

Updated: With Byrd likely to miss the game this week, Johnson has the potential to see an increase in snaps and targets. Still not worth starting, but he'll have an opportunity to take a hold of the WR3 job if he produces.
