WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Houston Texans

Washington is a team that is built around its defense and ball-control offense. This team is third in time of possession, but for fantasy purposes, Washington has an implied team total in Week 11 of only 19.75 points. Only Oakland is lower. Vernon Davis flashed for seven targets two weeks ago but went back to just one last week. He's still just a Jordan Reed handcuff at this point.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Vernon Davis flashed last week with Jordan Reed potentially getting banged up in the game, but he still needs to be viewed as just a handcuff to Reed in an offense that doesn't exactly exude excitement. The match-up is great, as the Bucs are bottom five in the league in aFPA to TEs, but given last week as the first time this season Davis had more than three targets, we remain skeptical as long as Jordan Reed is active.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Vernon Davis's upside is tied to whether Jordan Reed is on the field and healthy. Reed missed 10 games last season, which allowed Davis to put up low-TE1 numbers from Week 8 on last season.

Fantasy Downside

Vernon Davis is a TE handcuff. He's worthless when Jordan Reed is active.

2018 Bottom Line

Only Jordan Reed owners should be drafting Vernon Davis and doing so only in best-ball leagues. Davis should remain on waivers in redraft leagues unless Reed suffers another injury.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Giants

Washington will look to finish the season on a high note, with most starters playing in Week 17, unless injured. The Giants defense is just 21st in aFPA to TEs. Vernon Davis has been inconsistent week-to-week, but he should be on the radar as a risky low-end TE1 in Week 17. Just hope he scores.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Denver Broncos

Vernon Davis is playing heavy snaps, but he's just not seeing the targets. It's possible he's being called on to block more with Washington's offensive line decimated by injuries. Davis has not gone over 30 yards in four straight games. You can't play him in Week 16 with any confidence, despite the plus matchup on paper against the Broncos, who have struggled against TEs.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Arizona Cardinals

After two weeks with just 3 targets, Vernon Davis thankfully got back to getting the ball last week with 7 targets. Thankfully, he scored a touchdown as he only caught 2 passes for 26 yards. This inconsistency and lack of efficiency in recent weeks renders him as nothing more than a streaming option in Week 15.

WAS TE Vernon Davis - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Los Angeles Chargers

Washington has a below average implied team total in Vegas this week of 20.25 points. Plus, we do not know why Washington has stopped using Davis in recent weeks (3 targets in the past two games), but that lack of usage means you cannot start him with any confidence in a lose-and-you're-out fantasy playoffs week. Bench him. Even with Jordan Reed out.
