Scouting report

CHI QB Trevor Siemian - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Green Bay Packers

Trevor Siemian got off to a decent start last week, and then we realized why he's been backing up Justin Fields. Siemian finished with 179 yards, one touchdown and one interception vs. the Jets. The Bears lost their No. 1 receiving threat in Darnell Mooney, impacting an already poor passing attack in Chicago. There's not much upside to Siemian in Week 13 vs. the Packers (14th aFPA) if Fields is inactive. He'd be an easy avoid if he were to start.

CHI QB Trevor Siemian - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Jets

Trevor Siemian could draw the start for the Bears in Week 12 as Justin Fields deals with a shoulder injury. This Bears' passing attack hasn't been that great with Fields, so we can't imagine it improves much with Siemian. To make matters worse, it's a really tough matchup against a good Jets defense. Siemian is one of the worst options at QB this week.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Indianapolis Colts

In the game versus the Jets last Sunday, Trevor Siemian did not turn the ball over and led his team to a much-needed win. He threw for exactly 200 yards for the second straight week, with one TD toss. While he’s not putting up big numbers, Siemian has been consistent, throwing for between 198 and 207 yards during his past four starts. It’s a quick turnaround with the game on Thursday night at Indy. The Colts just sloshed through the snow in an overtime loss at Buffalo and are allowing over 250 passing yards per game. However, there is very little reason for you to start Siemian this week.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New York Jets

It was another ugly performance by Trevor Siemian and the Denver offense last Sunday in a blowout loss at Miami. Siemian completed just 46% of his passes for exactly 200 yards. He threw 3 interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and he was also sacked three times. In the past five games Siemian has played, he has thrown 3 TD tosses and 9 interceptions. Back at home this week, he faces a Jets defense that just allowed 366 passing yards and 4 TDs to Alex Smith. If there is a time for the Denver offense to show signs of life, it is this week. However, Siemian should only be started if you’re out of other options.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Miami Dolphins

After Paxton Lynch left last week’s game at Oakland with an ankle injury, Trevor Siemian came in and posted some decent numbers. Granted, the Broncos were well behind, which led to a pass play on nearly every down, but Siemian threw for 149 yards and 2 TDs, bringing his team back to within a score late. It was the first time he’d thrown for multiple touchdowns since Week 2. While he hasn’t started since the end of October, Siemian is the best and most experienced QB Denver has. In Miami on Sunday, he’ll be facing a defense allowing nearly 230 yards per game through the air. However, he should still be considered a QB2 option.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City Chiefs

In the shutout loss to the Chargers last week, in addition to possibly having his nose broken, Trevor Siemian threw for just 209 yards on 35 attempts. He was sacked 5 times, intercepted once and fumbled twice (lost one). The Denver offense definitely missed the deep threat of Emmanuel Sanders, with Siemian averaging less than 6 yards per attempt. The Broncos have scored just 3 TDs the past four outings and have another tough task on Monday night. While Kansas City’s defense is ranked No. 28 against the pass, Siemian should be considered as nothing more than a QB2 option.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Chargers

While the Broncos offense seemed off all night in the loss to the Giants last Sunday, Trevor Siemian ended up throwing for 376 yards on 50 attempts. He finished with 1 touchdown toss and 2 interceptions, including a costly pick-six that put his team behind two scores at halftime. Siemian left the game with a sore shoulder after trying to make a tackle on the interception that resulted in a score. He was able to play the entire second half, though. Denver has a couple of banged up WRs (Emmanuel Sanders is out with a sprained ankle), which will make this week’s road contest even more challenging. In the Week 1 win over the Chargers, Siemian threw for 219 yards and 2 TDs, but he remains a QB2 option.
