Scouting report

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 18: Romo vs Lions
Has Tony Romo put his bad Decembers behind him? It appears so. Can the same be said for his postseason woes? Well, we will see. This will be his fifth post season game (1-3 in the others) and his numbers really aren't terrible. He has completed 59% of his passes and averaged 208 yards per game. Romo has thrown four TDs and two INTs. Not exactly MVP numbers, but he seems to be playing with confidence right now.

Romo will face the Lions who are 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. The good news for Romo owners is that Lions defensive tackle Nudamkong Suh will play which should mean the Cowboys turn more to the passing game.

Overall, Romo ranks behind three other QBs for Wild Card weekend. Not a bad play, but a lot of questions on which Tony Romo shows up Sunday.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17: Romo vs Redskins

Tony Romo was outstanding last week against Indy. Even though he only threw for 218 yards, he completed 90% of his passes and threw four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He now has 10 touchdown passes and zero picks over the last three weeks, which has not been the norm for Romo in past Decembers.

He will face division rival Washington who is 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks. Romo was average in the first meeting throwing only one TD and 209 yards in the loss to the Redskins. Dallas is still playing for seeding, so expect Romo to play the whole game. Start him as a low-end fantasy QB1 for Week 17.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16: Romo vs Colts
Usually, Tony Romo is not too happy when December arrives, but that has not been the case in 2014. He has thrown three touchdowns in each of the last two games (both in December) without an interception and pushed his team into first place in the NFC East. The last two games will be relevant for Dallas so expect them to keep the foot on the gas.

The Cowboys will face the Colts this week who are 12th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It will be seen as a shootout between Romo and Colts QB Andrew Luck so the scoreboard operator should be busy. Start Romo in all formats as a strong QB1 for Week 16 and hope the December magic continues.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15: Romo vs Eagles

Tony Romo was solid last week completing 80% of his passes and throwing three touchdowns. As long as he is healthy, he has put up good numbers and helped his fantasy owners. One thing to note is his pass attempts have been very consistent over the past five weeks ranging from 26 to 29. Basically, that means you know what you are getting week-to-week with the Cowboys offense.

Romo will face Philadelphia for the second time in three weeks. He struggled on Thanksgiving against the Eagles which didn't make sense consider the Birds are 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It was the only game this season where he didn't throw a TD and now he has to try to beat the Eagles on the road. Expect a better performance from Romo with a full week to prepare, but he's a back-end QB1 start.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14: Romo vs Bears

Many owners were expecting a big week from Tony Romo, but he and most of the Cowboys players put up a clunker on Thanksgiving. Romo threw for 199 yards, zero touchdowns and two INTs. The bad performance was one thing, but the fact we were expecting so much more against the Eagles really hurts. Maybe the short week was a factor but the Eagles had one too and look very good.

Romo has another great matchup this week in another nationally televised game against Chicago. The Bears are 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks. They do not produce the same type of pressure Philly has with their pass rushers so Romo should have more time in the pocket. Start him as a solid QB1 in all leagues for Week 14.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13: Romo vs Eagles

Tony Romo was outstanding Sunday night against the Giants throwing for 275 yards and four touchdowns. He has looked healthy since the bad back forced him out, and the Cowboys' offense seems to be clicking again on all cylinders.

Romo will sneak in one more game in November, where he has been outstanding throughout his career. He is 28-6 as a starter and has thrown 71 touchdowns and only 18 interceptions. Against the Eagles in his career, he has been up and down. He averages only 188 yards per game and has thrown 17 touchdowns and 13 INTS.

However, this week could be different as the Eagles are 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks, and with the way Romo has been playing, especially at home, it could be a big day. Start him in all leagues for Week 13. We see him as a top 5 play.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12: Romo vs Giants

The Cowboys are coming off their London victory and a bye week so Tony Romo should be fresh going into Week 12. Romo was very good in London completing 74% of his passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Dallas is hoping the bad back is healing because this is the kind of result you will get with a healthy Tony Romo.

The Giants are the Cowboys opponent and they are 10th in aFPA to quarterbacks so the advantage slightly leans towards New York. Still, Romo seems to be heating up and the Monday night spotlight should shine. Start him as a low-end QB1 for Week 12.
