LAR RB Sony Michel - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Green Bay Packers

Do not be surprised if Michel’s role changes in Week 12 as the Rams face a tough road matchup against Green Bay. Instead of just giving Darrell Henderson a breather for a couple series, look for Michel to be the short-yardage back throughout the game against a top 15 rush defense according to aFPA. Michel is not much more than a desperation flex option in what is expected to be a tight game in Week 12.

LAR RB Sony Michel - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at San Francisco 49ers

A production spike is in the cards for Week 10 if Darrell Henderson (ankle) misses the game or is truly limited. Michel’s production has come from a majority of careers, so a limited Henderson could be in the game for strictly passing work. The 49ers are a good matchup for running backs, allowing 90 yards on the ground and 37.5 through the air. Look for Michel to get a handful more carries in Week 10 assuming Henderson does not get a full practice in ahead of Monday’s game.

Week 9 versus Tennessee Titans

Michel got his share of garbage touches in Week 8 and may get more in Week 9 against Tennessee. The Titans are poor against the pass and a blowout could lead to Michel helping bleed the clock. That is not the best way to roster Michel, but bye weeks have no mercy. Michel has at least nine carries in two of the past three weeks, both convincing wins.

Week 8 at Houston Texans

Michel played eight of a possible 65 snaps (12.3%) in Week 7, his lowest since joining the team prior to Week 1. If there was not a possibility of garbage time, Michel would not be talked about as a desperation play this week.

Week 7 vs Lions

Bye week hell has come Week 7. Sony Michel is the clear back-up for Los Angeles but is in line for mop-up duty against the 32nd-ranked defense against running backs according to 4for4’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed. With so many options off this week, Michel fits as a flex option with some upside because of his opponent.

Week 6 at Giants

If you started Michel this past Thursday you were rewarded with a red zone score. Those will continue to be difficult to predict but Michel will have his own offensive series to be productive. Michel’s floor is low but with Darrell Henderson one hit away from another ribs issue, he is a FLEX option with the bye weeks starting. The New York Giants are 22nd in aFPA against running backs.

Week 4 vs Cardinals

Sony Michel Sony Michel’d like only Sony Michel can. In his first start with the Rams, he averaged 3.35 yards per carry but ended with 23 total touches (three receptions). His matchup against Tampa Bay was tough and the next against the Arizona Cardinals is not much better. The Cardinals are 11th in aFPA against running backs, and the matchup does not include the return of Darrell Henderson to the Rams backfield. Look for Michel to return to a run-only role with fewer total touches than Week 3.
