TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Jets

Rob Gronkowski didn't do a whole lot last week, finishing with 23 yards on just one catch with two targets. One would think that with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin sidelined that Gronk would succeed, but instead, he's had his two worst games of the season in the last two weeks (not counting a game he left early due to injury). While he hasn't been great the last two games, we'd expect him to bounce back this week in a favorable matchup vs. the Jets. The Jets have given up the 9th-most average fantasy points to tight ends this year. And Gronk did see 11 targets just two games ago. He's in a weird slump, but he should still be viewed as a top-five option at tight end this week.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Carolina Panthers

After Chris Godwin and Mike Evans went down with injury last week, you'd expect Rob Gronkowski to be the main beneficiary. And in a way he was. Gronk finished with a team-high 11 targets, the most targets he's seen in a game this season. But he struggled to actually catch anything, finishing 2-29-0. It was a weird game, but we expect Gronk to get back on track this week. With Godwin and Evans out again, the veteran tight end should continue to get plenty of targets in a middle-of-the-road matchup vs. the Panthers. Gronk should be viewed as a top-five option at tight end this week.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New Orleans Saints

Rob Gronkowski had another solid outing last week, finishing 5-62-0 on nine targets. When he's healthy, Gronk has been a reliable option at tight end. In the five games he's played 80% of the snaps or more, Gronk has averaged 5.6 receptions for 74.4 yards with six total touchdowns. That should make you feel confident about putting Gronk out there as your TE1. He does get a tough matchup this week against the Saints, however. New Orleans has given up the eighth-fewest receiving yards to opposing tight ends, and just three touchdowns to the position. Despite the tough matchup, we still like Gronk as a top-five option at TE this week.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 @ Buffalo Bills

Rob Gronkowski turned in another solid performance last week, finishing 4-58-2 on eight targets. In the four games he's played at least 80% of the offensive snaps, Gronk has scored two touchdowns in three of them. Tom Brady and Gronk have a special connection as they've now connected on 90 regular-season touchdowns, the second-most all-time among a pair of NFL players. We wouldn't expect a two-touchdown game this week, though, as Gronk gets a tough matchup vs. the Bills. In fact, Buffalo has given up just three receiving touchdowns to tight ends all season. Buffalo's also given up the second-fewest receptions to tight ends. It's a really tough matchup, but given Gronk's production when healthy, we still like him as a strong TE1 play in Week 14.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Atlanta Falcons

Rob Gronkowski finished 7-123 on nine targets last week, finishing with just his second 100-yard game while on the Bucs. He also played on 82% of the offensive snaps, which is a bump up from the 59% he played in the game prior, which was his first back from injury. The 100-yard performance and increased playing time indicate he truly is back from injury, and can be trusted as a TE1 option moving forward. This week he gets a tough matchup on paper against the Falcons. Atlanta has given up just four touchdowns to tight ends this year, but two of those touchdowns came from Gronk in Week 2. We wouldn't anticipate another two-touchdown game from Gronk this week, but it is nice to know he's already had success against this team. He should be viewed as a top-five option at his position.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Indianapolis Colts

Rob Gronkowski returned to the lineup last week and was more productive than we expected. He saw eight targets, which was second-most on the team, and finished 6-71-0. In the four games this season where he's played the majority of the snaps, Gronk has seen eight targets in three of them. With him getting plenty of looks, he should be pretty productive this week in a favorable matchup vs. the Colts. Indy has allowed the second-most receptions, and second-most receiving yards to tight ends so far this year. They've also given up six touchdowns to the position, which is tied for third-most. Gronk should be viewed as a top 10 option at tight end in Week 12.

TB TE Rob Gronkowski - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Giants

Rob Gronkowski got in a full participation in practice this week, meaning he should be ready to play again. Of course, we thought he was ready to play again in Week 8 before he exited after playing just six snaps. Gronk was highly productive in the two games he started and finished, scoring two touchdowns in each. But his injury is a cause for concern, making him a somewhat risky play. He gets an OK matchup vs. the Giants, but his health is more concerning than the matchup. He'll be a low-end TE1 play if he's active this week.
