Scouting report

PHI WR Riley Cooper - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Compared to the other Eagle receivers, Riley Cooper has nice size and should be a potential red zone threat. Two years ago, he really connected with Nick Foles and from Week 6 on produced over 700 yards and seven TDs over the final 11 games in 2013. Cooper is in a good system as the Eagles run a fast-paced offense with a lot of plays.

Fantasy Downside
Cooper was a total bust in 2014 even when Foles was the QB. That continued after Mark Sanchez took over and used Jordan Matthews a lot more. The team drafted Nelson Agholor this past spring, and many feel Josh Huff is ready to take on a bigger role. That could push Cooper down to fourth on the Eagles depth chart. The team never seems to take advantage of his size in the red zone either, but that could also be due to a lack of trust.

Botton Line
Cooper does do a lot of things right, according to the team, but blocking and special team don't equal fantasy points. So, Cooper is buried at 78th on our WR list and there isn't a ton of value there right now. While you just never know in this offense, the odds seem stacked against him with other potential younger receivers poised to break out.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 - Cooper vs. NY Giants
Riley Cooper waited until Week 16 for his bust-out game, catching five balls for 53 yards and two TDs. The two TDs give him three total in what's been a disappointing season. Cooper gets a decent matchup this week against the Giants who are ranked in the bottom half of the league in allowing fantasy points to TEs. Cooper is again a risk despite coming off a nice game. Between Week 9 and Week 15, Cooper's highest yardage output was 49 yards.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 - Cooper vs. Washington
Riley Cooper's struggles continued as he caught just two balls for 17 yards on four targets last week. He hasn't really been a factor since Week 8, and his best line in that span has been 3-49, which came in Week 12.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 - Cooper vs. Dallas
Riley Cooper had just three catches for 13 yards on five targets last week and he continues to be unproductive in terms of fantasy performances. Although the team defended Cooper this week, he's clearly at least a third WR option behind Jeremy Maclin and now Jordan Matthews. His lone TD this year came back in Week 5.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 - Cooper vs. Seattle
Riley Cooper caught four passes for 32 yards last week on seven targets. Cooper has been making more negative news recently than anything he's doing on the field - commenting on Jeremy Maclin's contract status, and in back-to-back plays seemingly not on the same page and having words with QB Mark Sanchez last week against Dallas. Cooper isn't a safe fantasy option anyway, ranked way down our list this week in a tough matchup against the Seahawks - on top of just not having a good season.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 - Cooper vs. Dallas
Riley Cooper caught three balls for 49 yards on six targets last week. It's been about par for the course on good weeks for Cooper, who is now playing fewer snaps than Jordan Matthews. Cooper isn't a safe play, even in what appears to be a decent matchup against the Cowboys.

PHI WR Riley Cooper - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 - Cooper vs. Tennessee
Riley Cooper had just four catches for 39 yards last week. It was actually his best output over the last three weeks. He's been passed, at least in terms of fantasy production, by Jordan Matthews despite still playing on the outside and starting opposite Jeremy Maclin. Cooper hasn't really been a solid fantasy play this year.
