Scouting report

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

With Dameon Pierce likely out, the Texans will likely roll with a committee of Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale. Burkhead was once the pass-catching back for Houston, but eventually became buried on the depth chart. Chances are he'll be the No. 2 in the committee, but neither option is rather enticing. Check elsewhere for running back help.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Washington Commanders

Once upon a time, Rex Burkhead had 23 catches in his first six games. He has four since then and the Texans just added Eno Benjamin. Rex's fantasy days this year look to be over.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New York Giants

Once upon a time, Rex Burkhead was seeing plenty of work in the passing game. He has caught two passes and has just three touches in the last two games. Burkhead's fantasy days, at least for this season, are pretty much done thanks to Dameon Pierce.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

For the first time all season, Rex Burkhead did not record two catches in a game, getting just one against the Titans. That was his only touch in the 17-10 loss that was not as close as the final score would indicate. Even with six teams on a bye, Burkhead is a desperation play that is reliant on receptions.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tennessee Titans

Rex Burkhead still gets involved in the passing game, making him at least worthy of these blurbs. Week 7 against the Raiders marked his third game with five catches and fourth with at least four. He is up to 23 catches in six games. But that's all you're going to get from Burkhead thanks to Dameon Pierce.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas Raiders

Rex Burkhead will still get a few catches out of the backfield (18 catches in five games), but he's taken a clear backseat to Dameon Pierce in Houston's backfield. No need to even think about Burkhead here.

HOU RB Rex Burkhead - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Jacksonville Jaguars

If you're in a very deep PPR league, Rex Burkhead may be worth a look. He already has 16 catches this season. Otherwise, he's not worth starting.
