Devin Funchess, who signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason, suffered a broken collarbone in Sunday's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He had three catches for 32 yards.
NFL.com had the initial report. It also reported that Funchess will seek a second opinion but that surgery is likely.
Funchess is listed as the team's WR2 meaning rookie Campbell could now see a bump in playing time and targets as a result of Funchess' injury. Rogers, Pascal and Cain all move up the depth chart as well.
IND WR Parris Campbell - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 1 at Los Angeles Chargers
Parris Campbell will be exciting to watch this year after a productive final season at Ohio State. He caught 79 balls for 992 yards and 11 touchdowns, including 11-71-1 in a Rose Bowl victory over Washington. Campbell begins the season fourth on the depth chart for the Colts, however, making it hard to hold him in most leagues. He should be on every dynasty roster as a developmental option with upside, and his speed makes him an interesting player in best-ball formats, but in most leagues, he’s unlikely to be consistent enough to warrant a roster spot.
