PIT WR Markus Wheaton - Week 18, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 18 at Cincinnati
Wheaton came on strong late in the season, catching four touchdown passes in the final six games. With teams paying so much attention to Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, Wheaton is free to work underneath. After catching just one pass the first time around against Cincinnati, Wheaton had four receptions for 65 yards in the rematch. He should be a decent flex start this week.

Week 17 at Cleveland
Wheaton had been making a strong late-season push until last week's 3-41 line. He only got five targets as well. Wheaton has three TD catches in the past five weeks, but with his usage, he's not much more than a flex play at this point.

Week 16 at Baltimore
Wheaton had another solid game last week, catching six passes for 62 yards and a score. It marked the third time he's scored in the past four weeks and he's had at least 50 receiving yards in each of those games. Ben Roethlisberger seems intent on including his slot receiver in the game plan, and while he won't put up Antonio Brown-like numbers all the time, there is that capability. Wheaton should be a solid flex play this week against a Baltimore defense that has allowed an NFL-high 25 TD passes to opposing receivers.

Week 15 vs. Denver
Wheaton had four receptions for 65 yards last week and now has 16 catches for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. With the Broncos' top-rated defense figuring to zero in on stopping Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant over the top, Wheaton could be Ben Roethlisberger's main target as he was in Seattle when he caught nine passes for 200 yards. Don't expect that kind of game, but Wheaton would be a solid choice for flex play this week with upside.

Week 14 at Cincinnati
Wheaton has now scored in back to back games, catching three passes for 50 yards as well. All three of his catches came on the same drive, so he might not necessarily get a high volume. But Cincinnati focused on stopping Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant the last time these two teams met. Wheaton could benefit from a similar approach, especially if Heath Miller doesn't play. That said, he's a flex play this week.

Week 13 vs. Indianapolis
With Heath Miller leaving in the second quarter with a rib injury, Wheaton ripped up the Seattle defense in the middle of the field, setting career highs with a 9-201-1 line. Miller will be questionable to play this week, meaning Wheaton might have another big game working out of the slot. You might want to take a look at him as a nice flex play this week.

Wheaton had just one catch last week, but it was a 72-yard touchdown. He has little value, however, with Mike Vick at QB. And that value is set to take a hit with the return of Martavis Bryant this week.
