TB RB LeSean McCoy - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Detroit Lions

With no Ronald Jones, LeSean McCoy still didn't make much of an impact. He had no carries, and finished 3-32 as a receiver while playing on just 12 offensive snaps (18%). He split time with rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who played on 10 snaps. McCoy isn't worth your time in Week 16 despite the favorable matchup.

TB RB LeSean McCoy - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Atlanta Falcons

LeSean McCoy saw increased playing time last week after Leonard Fournette was a healthy scratch. McCoy had a season-high 35 scrimmage yards, which really tells you all you need to know about the veteran. He may get a similar role this week with Ronald Jones out, but a ceiling of 35 yards isn't too appealing. McCoy can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Even with Leonard Fournette inactive last week, LeSean McCoy didn't see much production. He has a total of -1 rushing yards on the year, and has just 61 receiving yards in six games. He's not worth fantasy consideration.

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

LeSean McCoy has a very small role in this offense, seeing just 18% of the offensive snaps in back-to-back weeks. He's only had one rushing attempt all season, and is 8-52 as a receiver on the season. He's not on the field enough to warrant fantasy consideration. He might get a slight bump in playing time if Leonard Fournette is inactive, but we'd just expect Ronald Jones to see more volume in that case.

Week 3 at Denver Broncos

LeSean McCoy saw seven targets in Week 2, catching five passes for 26 yards. We'd expect to see fewer targets moving forward now that Chris Godwin is projected to return. McCoy only played on 11 snaps in Week 2, so it's unlikely he'll be seeing that kind of volume on a week-to-week basis. He's safe to ignore in Week 3.

LeSean McCoy has essentially taken over the Dare Ogunbowale role of playing a lot while not doing a lot. He played on 36% of the offensive snaps while only finishing with one touch, a reception for two yards. McCoy needs more touches to become relevant in fantasy.

TB RB LeSean McCoy - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New Orleans Saints

LeSean McCoy joins the Bucs after an interesting year in Kansas City. McCoy was starting games for the Chiefs in 2019, even having as many as 14 touches in a game. But by the end of the season, he was a healthy scratch from games. We don't anticipate him having a large role in Tampa Bay as he sits behind Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette. McCoy would seemingly have some sort of pass-catching role, but Jones is capable in that role as well. McCoy should be viewed as a risky play in Week 1 as we're projecting him to finish with fewer than 30 scrimmage yards.
