Scouting report

by Steve Andress

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Nobody outside Frank Gore should be considered in fantasy starting lineups from the Colts backfield, unless Gore gets hurt. That is not the case for Week 9.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City
Frank Gore's weekly workload renders any other Colts running back useless in fantasy lineups. Ferguson is not a consideration.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Tennessee
Ferguson is nothing more than Frank Gore's handcuff. Even in PPR leagues, there are not enough touches to make him fantasy relevant.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Houston
Ferguson only caught two passes for 10 yards last week after 7 receptions for 33 yards the week before, and that's simply not consistent enough work to even be useful in PPR leagues. He's Frank Gore's handcuff and nothing more.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Chicago
Josh Ferguson is not on the standard radar, but he's a little more than just a blip on the radar in PPR lately. Seven receptions last week, and although it was only for 33 yards, it's clear the Colts see him as their 3rd down back. With the Colts offensive line failing to give Andrew Luck much time, he's been content to check it down often. Gore owners should all own Ferguson, especially in PPR. He probably stays on your bench Week 5, however.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Jacksonville
Ferguson is nothing more than a passing down option for the Colts, as Frank Gore is getting the lion's share of the snaps. He is not a starting option.

IND RB Josh Ferguson - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Josh Ferguson caught all five of his targets out of the backfield last week, but he's only played 27% of snaps for the Colts. He should only be monitored as a potential handcuff to Frank Gore.
