CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. New Orleans Saints

Jarius Wright could get some additional looks if D.J. Moore misses the season finale against the Saints due to a concussion suffered last week. Still, with Will Grier throwing the ball and the Panthers looking overmatched on offense, it’s hard to think Wright will lead fantasy owners to a championship. Avoid all Panthers with names that don’t rhyme with Shmacaffrey this week.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Jarius Wright is the clear WR3 for the Panthers, logging 60% of the team’s offensive snaps this season. However, that role has yet to translate into any kind of consistent fantasy numbers in Carolina, and Wright is averaging just 3.4 targets and 19 yards per game this year. While the matchup against the Falcons is enticing for any pass-catcher, fantasy owners should leave Wright on waivers until he starts producing.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Green Bay Packers

Jarius Wright didn’t catch a pass last week and actually finished the day negative seven yards on a single rushing attempt. He was targeted four times for the second straight week, but that’s probably not enough to justify considering him in fantasy lineups. He should remain on waivers, especially with Carolina signing Donte Moncrief this week after his release from the Steelers. Both are likely to battle for the WR3 role on the team.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee Titans

Jarius Wright was targeted four times against the 49ers last week, but he caught just two balls for 12 yards on the day. Wright has only one game with over 10 PPR points this season (10.9 against the Texans), and is far too risky to trust in any given week. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (London Game)

Jarius Wright had one catch for six yards on three targets last week against the Jaguars. Wright is entrenched as the third receiver for the Panthers, but that’s not a position where consistent fantasy production will be found. Christian McCaffrey is a primary weapon in the passing game, and Greg Olsen often is emphasized as well, relegating Wright to at least the fifth option in most games. Keep him on waivers.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jarius Wright had five catches for 59 yards last week against the Texans and was targeted six times on the day. It was his most productive game of the season so far, but he’s still relegated to third on the receiver depth chart and is probably fifth in receiving options for quarterback Kyle Allen, including running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end Greg Olsen. Wright is firmly entrenched as the third receiver and he helps the Panthers in that role, but it’s unlikely to yield any kind of consistent fantasy production. He should remain on waivers.

CAR WR Jarius Wright - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Jarius Wright has been quietly productive in spurts throughout his career, and he had 43 receptions for 447 yards and a touchdown last season, his first with the Panthers. Wright is currently penciled in as the WR3 in Carolina, which makes him hard to justify having on a fantasy roster, but he’s worth keeping an eye on if the Panthers take a step in passing efficiency in year two under Norv Turner, especially if the oft-injured Curtis Samuel once again gets bit by the injury bug.
