Scouting report

GB RB James Starks - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Seattle
Ah the dreaded committee. Starks got just four carries for 1 yard last week and is now in a timeshare with Christine Michael and Ty Montgomery. Since Montgomery also lines up at WR, he's the only one that's a viable fantasy option right now.

GB RB James Starks - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Houston
Starks had a season-high 17 carries for 41 yards and five receptions for 27 yards last week and has taken over the majority of Green Bay's rushing duties. Given Aaron Rodgers' status with his hamstring, the Packers could lean on Starks even a little more this week, especially against a Houston defense ranked 28th in fantasy football against running backs. Starks could be a sneaky start this week as a No. 2 back.

GB RB James Starks - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Philadelphia
Starks led the Lions in carries with nine last week, even if he did only pick up 25 yards, but he also added five receptions for 46 yards and a score. He's obviously the main guy in Green Bay's backfield rotation, even if that means only about 15 touches per game. But because Starks is only going to get 15 or so touches per game, that makes him little more than a flex play, especially against Philadelphia's run defense, which has been very stiff at home this season.

GB RB James Starks - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Washington
Starks finally returned to the lineup last week and got 10 touches, seven rushes and three catches, producing 33 yards on the ground and 11 and a touchdown through the air. He should continue to get the bulk of the work in the backfield the rest of the way for the Packers, which should mean around 15 touches per game. That makes him a low-end No. 2 back or solid flex play.

GB RB James Starks - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Dallas
Starks got 12 carries last week as Eddie Lacy left early with an ankle injury, but he managed just 33 yards. He's dealing with a knee injury that might keep him out of this game, but given his early usage, unless Lacy doesn't play - which doesn't appear to be the case - Starks doesn't have much value.

GB RB James Starks - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Minnesota
Starks saw just five touches last week at Jacksonville, compared to 15 for Eddie Lacy. That doesn't bode well for Starks unless Lacy gets hurt.

GB RB James Starks - Week 1, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Jacksonville
As we saw in 2015, the Packers like to use both Eddie Lacy and James Starks to run the ball. But expect the split to be more 75-25 this season, as long as Lacy stays healthy. He's healthy now, so that limits Starks' point production.
