MIA QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Tua Tagovailoa had a surprise inactive last week as his finger injury kept him out, meaning Jacoby Brissett jumped back in as the starter. Tagovailoa has been limited in practice this week so there's a chance he plays, but we'd be surprised if he goes out there on a short week. We'd expect Brissett to start, and if that's the case then you can forget about starting a Dolphins QB in fantasy this week. Brissett had a bad game last week in what was a favorable matchup vs. the Texans. He finished with 244 yards, one touchdown and three turnovers (2 INT, 1 FUM). In his three starts earlier this year, Brissett averaged around 230 pass yards and less than two touchdowns per game. He gets an OK matchup vs. the Ravens on Thursday night, but there should be better options available this week. He's around a bottom five option among starting QBs in Week 10.

MIA QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jacoby Brissett had better fantasy production last week as he finished with two touchdowns, but Miami's scheme doesn't bode well for a lot of success. Brissett has hovered around the 200-yard passing mark in his three games (two starts, one game with 88% of the snaps). It's also a mark Tua Tagovailoa was around in Week 1 (202 yards). Brissett might go above that mark this week as he draws a favorable matchup against the Bucs. Tampa's secondary has been brutalized by injuries with two CBs on injured reserve, and another two CBs on the injury report. Still, it's hard to see Brissett have a monster game given what we've seen from Miami so far this season. We have Brissett listed outside of our top 25 quarterbacks for the week.

MIA QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Dolphins weren't scared to let QB Jacoby Brissett throw as he filled in for an injured Tua Tagovailoa. Brissett finished Week 3 with 49 pass attempts, which resulted in 219 pass yards. He also had 37 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. It was a decent game, but we'd like to see him throw for a touchdown before he becomes a reliable fantasy option. This week he gets a revenge game against the Colts, which is a favorable matchup. Indianapolis has given up nine passing touchdowns this season, tied for the most. Brissett isn't the worst option as he has a solid group of WRs in a good matchup, but he's outside of the top 20 quarterbacks in our Week 4 rankings.

MIA QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Las Vegas Raiders

Jacoby Brissett will start this week for the Dolphins in place of an injured Tua Tagovailoa. Brissett essentially played all of Week 2 (88%) and was OK. He had 169 yards with no touchdowns and an interception while adding eight yards on four carries. A positive takeaway is Brissett had 40 pass attempts, so the Dolphins aren't scared to let him throw. And Brissett has a lot of weapons in Miami including DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle and Will Fuller who is expected to make his Dolphin debut.

However, Brissett is a pretty risky fantasy option this week. There are so many good quarterbacks available that it makes it difficult to recommend Brissett. He faces a Raiders defense that's only given up two total touchdowns to QBs this season. We have Brissett outside of our top 25 quarterbacks in Week 3.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacoby Brissett only had 119 yards passing last week, although he added 37 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Brissett hasn’t been a solid fantasy option for much of the season, but his limited passing numbers last week were largely due to the Colts getting up early on the Panthers and then running the ball for the rest of the game.

This is a great matchup to finish the season. The Jaguars rank 25th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this year and they are barely playing with a pulse right now. Brissett hasn’t been productive enough throughout the season to consider him a viable QB1 option in most leagues, but if you’re desperate for a streaming option, you could do worse than Brissett in a good matchup.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Carolina Panthers

Jacoby Brissett and the rest of the Colts offense was terrible last week against the Saints. He finished with only 165 yards and completed just 52.9% of his passes in a blowout loss. Brissett has rarely put up good fantasy numbers this year and he has a tough matchup against the Panthers this week, who rank fourth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season. Brissett should be on waivers in most leagues and should be on the bench in all but the deepest of two-quarterback formats.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New Orleans Saints

Jacoby Brissett threw for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a close loss to the Buccaneers last week. He’s been inconsistent at best when it comes to fantasy production, but those seem like the best you can generally hope for from him, as he has only four passing touchdowns over his past six games – although he’s ran two in during that time. Against a tough Saints defense that gave up big points to the 49ers last week but ranks 12th in the league in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, owners should have better streaming options available. Even in 2QB leagues, he’s a fringe option.
