Scouting report

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Tennessee
If you thought Eddie Royal would step up last week with Alshon Jeffery gone, you were wrong. Instead, he finished with 13 yards on two catches and had a fumble. Until Royal does something of value, he's not worth fantasy consideration, even in Week 12 in a favorable against the Titans.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Giants
Eddie Royal has been limited in practice this week, but should be fine for Sunday. He'll be relied on more in the offense now with Alshon Jeffery facing a suspension.

Royal had a strong start to the season before he missed games due to injury. There's a chance he picks that success back up now that he'll be a co-WR1 in this offense. But in terms of fantasy, he'll be more of a WR4 option this week in a tough matchup against the Giants.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville
Eddie Royal played hurt last week, but still managed to have a decent game. The slot receiver hauled in 7-of-9 targets for 43 yards. With Alshon Jeffery and Cameron Meredith being the outside guys, Royal's value is more in PPR formats than standard leagues.

Royal will get a favorable matchup this week against Jacksonville, and is on the fantasy radar in deeper leagues. He should be viewed as a low-end WR3 in PPR or a WR4/flex play.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
Eddie Royal has been solid all season long, but he had a breakout performance last week, catching seven passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. His production will continue to be solid as he fills in for an injured Kevin White.

He'll face a Colts defense this week that has allowed plenty of passing yards to opposing teams, although receivers have had difficulties getting fantasy points. Still, Royal has enough promise for us to view him as a low-end WR3.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Detroit
Eddie Royal had his worst game of the season with Brian Hoyer at quarterback. Is it a coincidence or a trend? Right now it's too early to tell, but we don't fully trust Royal as a reliable fantasy option. He'll have some numbers in this favorable matchup, but he's off the fantasy radar in most formats.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas
Eddie Royal has had back-to-back 50-yard games, which isn't a lot, but it's more production than Kevin White. As it stands, Royal isn't a great option this week in fantasy. He'll be a fringe WR4 or WR5 candidate if Alshon Jeffery misses the game, but even then, he's a risky start.

CHI WR Eddie Royal - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Eddie Royal vs. Philadelphia
Eddie Royal had a surprising six targets in Week 1, and came away with the only receiving touchdown on the team. With guys like Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White on the team, we didn't expect Royal to have much of a role, but it appears he'll at least be involved somewhat this season.

For now, we'll write up Royal's production as an anomaly, and he's not quite on the fantasy radar. He could end up being a decent flex play as a PPR receiver, but he'll need to do a little more.
