CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Atlanta Falcons

D'Onta Foreman was a surprise inactive last week due to personal reasons. He returned to practice in full on Wednesday this week so he's expected to return to the lineup for Week 17 against the Falcons (9th aFPA). In Foreman's absence, Khalil Herbert popped off for a 100-yard game, so this Bears backfield is going to be tough to predict. Assuming Foreman returns this week, he seems to be the Bears' option for redzone carries so he carries a decent chance for a touchdown. But the touches may be hard to come by overall, making Foreman a risky RB3/flex option this week in a tough matchup.

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Arizona Cardinals

D'Onta Foreman was tied for the team lead in carries (6) last week among running backs, but he kept going backwards finishing with -6 yards on the ground while seeing 0 targets. After playing on 55% of the offensive snaps in Week 14, he ended up only playing 26% in Week 15. We could break down all the numbers between the three backs (Foreman, Roschon Johnson, Khalil Herbert), but long story short: they're all getting touches, making all of them risky plays. Foreman at least appears to be the goal line back, so he has a stronger chance of a touchdown. But it's hard to trust these Chicago running backs, especially when Justin Fields is also in the mix as a runner. Foreman will be an RB3/flex option in Week 16 vs. Arizona (32nd aFPA).

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

D'Onta Foreman returned from injury last week and it looks like he's taken the starting job. He led the three man backfield in touches, rushing 11 times for 50 yards and catching two of his three targets for 22 yards. Khalil Herbert (3) and Roschon Johnson (1) combined for just four touches and neither saw a target. Foreman also led in playing time, playing on 55% of the offensive snaps. Foreman should lead the way again in an OK matchup vs. the Browns (15th aFPA) this week. Johnson and Herbert are still lurking, though, as well as Fields. Foreman should be viewed as an RB3/flex option for Week 15.

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit Lions

D'Onta Foreman got the bulk of the carries last week as he ran 21 times for 80 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 12 yards. However, things could get complicated this week. Both Justin Fields and Khalil Herbert are expected back in the lineup, so we wouldn't expect Foreman to continue seeing 20+ touches anymore. Having said that, Foreman has played well in Herbert's absence so it's difficult to see him just completely vanishing. Foreman has especially been a nice player around the goal line. But with Herbert, Fields and Roschon Johnson in the mix, this backfield could end up being a disaster for everyone involved. Not to mention, the Bears draw a tough matchup this week as the Lions are eighth in aFPA to RBs. Foreman should be viewed as a low-end RB3/flex option in Week 11.

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Carolina Panthers

After splitting touches the previous week, the Bears decided to lean on D'Onta Foreman last week as he saw 20 carries for 83 yards (although he had no targets). The other two running backs saw a combined three carries and six touches. Things could get messy this week, though, as Khalil Herbert might return. Herbert has been listed as a full participant in practice both Monday and Tuesday. If Herbert is unable to go, then we'd expect Foreman to see the bulk of the touches again in a favorable matchup vs. the Panthers (31st aFPA). But if Herbert plays, it could be a messy committee between Herbert, Foreman and Roschon Johnson. If Herbert is out, we like Foreman as a strong RB3/flex option in Week 10.

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New Orleans Saints

D'Onta Foreman didn't quite live up to the hype of his Week 7 performance in Week 8. Last week, Foreman ran nine times for 34 yards and caught one of his two targets for two yards. With the return of Roschon Johnson, the Bears split up playing time between their three backs. Johnson led the way with 36%, Foreman played 32% and Darrynton Evans played 27%. Foreman had a few good runs get called back due to penalties, though, and he's still the best bet to get goal line work if Chicago gets close enough. He gets a fairly tough matchup this week against the Saints (13th aFPA). Foreman should be viewed as an RB3/flex option in Week 9.

CHI RB D'Onta Foreman - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Los Angeles Chargers

With Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert both out again, D'Onta Foreman took over the backfield and had himself a day. He ran 16 times for 89 yards and caught three passes for 31 yards while also scoring three touchdowns. Herbert will be out once again this week, but Johnson has logged full practices and is expected to return from his concussion. But with Justin Fields also out, we'd expect the Bears to rely heavily on their run game once again this week, so Foreman still has value. He gets a decent matchup against the Chargers who are 18th in aFPA to RBs. Foreman should be viewed as a solid RB2 option in Week 8.
