CAR WR D.J. Chark - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Detroit Lions

D.J. Chark caught a big touchdown in Week 3, but has otherwise had a difficult time finding his way in a struggling Carolina offense. Chark has a nice matchup this week against a Detroit defense that ranks 25th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, however, it’s hard to trust anyone outside of Adam Thielen in the Carolina passing game. Fantasy managers can leave Chark on waivers in the bulk of leagues.

DET WR D.J. Chark - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears

D.J. Chark made some big plays last week against the Panthers in crossing 100 receiving yards for the first time this season and getting to 90 yards for the third time in the last four weeks. He gets another good matchup this week against the Bears and has a good shot to get another big play against that Chicago secondary. Consider Chark a solid flex option this week.

DET WR D.J. Chark - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Carolina Panthers

D.J. Chark saw all of two targets last week as he drew Sauce Gardner most of the game and Jared Goff didn't even try to test Gardner. There's no Sauce Gardner in Carolina so the offense should open up this week and Chark should get back to see a handful of targets this week, especially since Carolina may be without C.J. Henderson this week. Chark is a low-end flex this week.

DET WR D.J. Chark - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Minnesota Vikings

D.J. Chark had his best day of the season and first truly productive day as a Lion, fittingly, against his former team. He had 98 yards on 5 catches against the Jaguars. He's gained some momentum, but still remains a flex option at best, though it is a favorable matchup against our easiest matchup for wide receivers this week, the Vikings. In Week 3, before his injury, Chark had 3 catches for 46 yards.

DET WR D.J. Chark - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Washington Commanders

D.J, Chark caught four of his eight targets in Week 1 and dropped a pass. He still came away with 52 yards and a touchdown. That was actually good for a low WR2 output. He won't always put up WR2 numbers and there's no guarantee he'll even find the end zone. The Lions do look stronger through the air, so Chark is worth at least a look in your flex spot. He cracks our top-30 wide receivers this week in Half-PPR.

DET WR D.J. Chark - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

D.J. Chark broke out back in 2019, but then suffered through poor quarterback play in 2020 and an ankle injury limited him to just four games last year. However, he scored two touchdowns in those four games and is still a big receiver (6-foot-4) with legit outside ability - something the Lions didn't have last year. He has a tough matchup and a new team this week, so it's risky to start him. The Eagles were second in the league in aFPA to opposing wide receivers last year and added an excellent safety in Chauncey Gardner-Johnson from the Saints. Take a wait-and-see approach with Chark, and stash him on your bench for later.

JAX WR D.J. Chark - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Cincinnati Bengals
D.J. Chark's fantasy production through three weeks has been extremely volatile, which is not all that surprising given his archetype as a player. Chark got 12 targets in Week 1, managed a single catch in Week 2, and then bounced back with a 3-49-1 line this past week against Arizona. As you can see, Chark is more big-play reliant than the other players in the Jacksonville offense. He will have some weeks where Trevor Lawrence hits him deep for chunk gains and touchdowns, and games when the offense is out of sync and he barely sees the ball. He fits the mold of your standard boom-or-bust fantasy WR3 and that is the range where he will slot in the rankings for a Week 4 matchup with the Bengals secondary.
