BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New York Giants
With Dalton Kincaid expected to be out, Dawson Knox becomes a sleeper for Week 6. His numbers have been low because he is splitting time, but he should play 80% of the snaps this week.

Knox will face an average Giants defense, but this is about opportunity. He was targeted a season-high six times last week and that could be similar this Sunday as long as Kincaid is out. Keep Knox on the bench as he ranks as a TE2 for this week. Even with the increased targets, he won't have enough value to warrant a start.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Dawson Knox had a similar 2022 to 2021 except for three less touchdowns. He has become a consistent target for Josh Allen and established himself as one of the more reliable tight ends in the league. He is in the second year of a four year deal so the Bills have invested in him.

Fantasy Downside
After two solid seasons, the Bills went out and drafted a pass-catching specialist in Dalton Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 Draft. Of course this will affect Knox's numbers. He probably will have trouble equaling his numbers from the last two seasons.

2023 Bottom Line
Yes, people are drafting Kincaid before Knox, but this is a mistake. These two should split production which means Knox still has value. Tight ends usually take some time to turn into a Travis Kelce or George Kittle, which could be Kincaid's future. The numbers will be pretty close and you can get Knox two rounds later in the draft. But he shouldn't be your No. 1 tight end this season.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Cincinnati Bengals
Dawson Knox had three catches for 38 yards last week, but he did score a touchdown for the third straight game. There is some concern about him as he has been limited in practice this week due to a hip injury.

Knox faces the Bengals who are ranked fourth in aFPA to tight ends. Despite the unfavorable matchup, Knox has been playing better the past couple weeks. Managers need to keep an eye on the inactive list to see if he ends up playing. If he does, he ranks as a low-end TE1 for Week 17 on Monday night.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears
Dawson Knox has come back to fantasy prominence the past two weeks as he has reached the end zone twice and caught 10 passes for 139 yards. These were numbers he was was putting up earlier in the season, but struggled to get back to that level until recent weeks.

Knox faces the Bears who are ranked 6th in aFPA to tight ends. Despite the tough matchup on the road, the recent numbers are a good sign of how Buffalo will make more of an effort to get Knox involved.

Knox is back to being a TE1 for Week 16. Although he is on the low end of that spectrum, he still warrants a start in Chicago.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins
Dawson Knox had one of his better games of the season, tying his season high in targets (7) and receptions (4). That produced 41 yards and his third touchdown of the year. Knox has come up short with TDs this season after scoring nine in 2021.

Knox faces the Dolphins who are ranked 28th in aFPA to tight ends. In the first meeting with Miami, he caught four passes for 25 yards. Don't expect much more. Knox ranks as a high-end TE2 for Week 15. More likely there is a better option to start, especially in 10-team leagues.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New York Jets
Dawson Knox has had only three targets over the last two games which has produced two receptions for 17 yards. That includes zero catches in Week 13. He hasn't been nearly the fantasy tight end he was last year as he has two touchdowns on the season.

Knox faces the Jets who are ranked 24th in aFPA to tight ends. In the first meeting this season against New York, he had three catches for 25 yards. Despite the favorable matchup, everything else says to keep Knox on the bench for Week 14.

BUF TE Dawson Knox - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New England Patriots
After a strong game two weeks ago, Dawson Knox had only two targets on Thanksgiving which produced two receptions for 17 yards. Knox is another Bills skill player capable of having a big game any given Sunday (or Thursday in this case). But overall Knox has underperformed his expectations for 2022.

Knox faces the Patriots who rank 27th in aFPA to tight ends. He actually had a great game against New England in the playoffs last season and the matchup is favorable. Start him as a low-end TE1 for Week 13.
