Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told undrafted free agent rookie wide receiver Damion Willis to line up as the starting X wide receiver in Sunday’s walk-through. What he didn’t tell him was that meant he was starting the Sept. 8 regular-season opener in Seattle.
“I’m just finding out,” said a dazed Willis before practice. “I’m going to wait to Saturday to celebrate.”
Reports say Willis has been the hottest name in camp all summer so it wasn't a total surprise this news broke. Willis led the team in receiving and also scored a TD in the team's Week 3 preseason game. Willis is starting in place of A.J. Green.
CIN WR Damion Willis - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 6 at Baltimore
Damion Willis is a part of the passing game as the Bengals third receiver and caught four passes for 38 yards. He will continue to get snaps as long as A.J. Green and John Ross are out, but has very little fantasy value. Keep him on the waiver wire.
