Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told undrafted free agent rookie wide receiver Damion Willis to line up as the starting X wide receiver in Sunday’s walk-through. What he didn’t tell him was that meant he was starting the Sept. 8 regular-season opener in Seattle.
“I’m just finding out,” said a dazed Willis before practice. “I’m going to wait to Saturday to celebrate.”
Reports say Willis has been the hottest name in camp all summer so it wasn't a total surprise this news broke. Willis led the team in receiving and also scored a TD in the team's Week 3 preseason game. Willis is starting in place of A.J. Green.

Week 2 vs San Francisco
Rookie Damion Willis showed he could be a part of the Bengals passing game with three receptions for 30 yards. He actually was on the field more than any other player than QB Andy Dalton playing 90% of the snaps.
Willis is a player to keep an eye on, but not worthy of a roster spot yet. He also will not be a factor when A.J. Green returns.
