The move makes sense for the rebuilding Redskins and should take some pressure off Haskins as he no longer has to wait iweek-to-week for an announcement. With not a lot of weapons around him, Haskins will be a borderline streaming option even on the best weeks.
The Redskins said in a statement: "Through the first five games of the 2019 season, the team has clearly not performed up to expectations, and we all share in that responsibility. Moving forward we are committed to doing all that we can collectively as an organization to turn things around and give our Redskins fans and alumni a team they can be proud of in 2019 and beyond." The latest was a blowout loss to New England at home on Sunday. There is a good chance we see Haskins starting at QB sooner than later.
