Scouting report

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins

Cody Latimer played only eight percent of the team’s offensive snaps last week and wasn’t targeted. He’s at least fourth on the wide receiver depth chart, giving him very little fantasy value. He should be on waivers in all league formats, with no short term or long term value.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Philadelphia Eagles

Cody Latimer caught a 43-yard pass last week, but it was his only reception and he was targeted just three times in relief of the injured Golden Tate. Even if Tate is inactive again, it’s too risky to trust Latimer, who has been largely ineffective, even when given added opportunities. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Chicago Bears

Cody Latimer caught a touchdown against Dallas in Week 9, but he’s only caught two passes for eight yards over his past two games, including a goose egg against the Jets before the bye last week. Latimer is at least third – and sometimes fifth – on the depth chart at wide receiver in any given week, making it unlikely he puts up any kind of consistent fantasy production. He should stay on waivers.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at New York Jets

Cody Latimer caught his first touchdown of the season on Monday night against the Cowboys, but it was one of only two receptions he had all night and he gained only eight yards. Latimer hasn’t hit double-digit fantasy points since the first game of the season and while he should continue to see increased snaps with Sterling Shepard back in concussion protocol, there’s no reason to expect him to produce in any given week. He should remain on waivers.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New England Patriots

Cody Latimer has a chance to see an increase in targets with Sterling Shepard and possibly Evan Engram sidelined against the Patriots on Thursday night. However, he’s been outplayed by rookie Darius Slayton thus far this season, and he’s at least third in the pecking order behind Slayton and Golden Tate. In a bad matchup, don’t get too excited about Latimer, who should remain on waivers this week.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Cody Latimer had three catches on five targets for 30 yards last week against a tough Bills defense. Latimer should be less affected by Sterling Shepard’s return to action this week against a surprisingly stout Buccaneers defense this week, as Latimer offers more size and physicality on the outside than Fowler does. However, with a rookie quarterback at the helm and the Giants having at least three better receiving options in Shepard, Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram, Latimer should remain on waivers in most leagues.

NYG WR Cody Latimer - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Buffalo Bills

Cody Latimer was second on the team with eight targets and 74 yards last week, even though he only caught three balls. Of the Giants receivers, Latimer showed the most promise as a big-play threat last week, catching a 43-yard pass. With Sterling Shepard iffy for Week 2 and rookie Darius Slayton also nicked up, it’s worth keeping an eye on Latimer to see if his role expands. He has a tough matchup this week against the Bill, so there’s no reason to have him in your lineup, but he’s worth a speculative roster addition in really deep leagues if you have a roster spot open.

Update: With Sterling Shepard out, Latimer could see an increase in targets, but he's still super risky and should probably stay on the bench.
