Penny was starting to come on as of late and was pretty much in a split workload with Carson the past couple of weeks. But the tone around Penny's injury doesn't sound encouraging, which now opens the door for Carson to likely see a bigger workload going forward - and Prosise could be more involved as well.
Rashaad Penny is finally forcing his way onto the field after spending his first season and a half buried behind Chris Carson. It appears he's shortening what seemed like a massive gap between the team’s top two running backs.
Penny had just 36 carries his previous seven games so this came out of nowhere. While Carson fumbled in the game, the good news is the team came right back to him on the next possession with a pass, but it's clear he may not be getting the major bulk of the workload going forward like he had been getting.
