Charles Johnson - Week 1 vs. Titans
Charles Johnson made a surprise appearance as Minnesota's starting receiver on their unofficial depth chart, but we still don't expect him to put up great numbers. He showed some promise in 2014, but only caught nine passes last season. Until something tells us different, it's best to just shy away from Johnson.

Week 6 vs. Kansas City
Charles Johnson hasn't done a whole lot this season. He's been inactive recently due to his rib injury. He was limited in practice this week and is officially questionable. Even if he does play, he won't be much of a threat.

Charles Johnson - Week 4 vs. Denver
Fantasy Twitter darling Charles Johnson has done essentially nothing this season. He has just six receptions for 46 yards through three games. He has a tough matchup this week against Denver, so the struggles will most likely continue for Johnson. He also missed practice on Thursday with a rib injury, so there's a chance he may not even play on Sunday.

Week 3 vs. San Diego
Charles Johnson has been a bit of a letdown so far this season. There were some fairly high expectations for him, but he's only caught five passes for 37 yards through two games. In fact, he's only seen six targets. He gets a good matchup this week against the Chargers, but isn't much more than a WR4 right now. He needs to start producing at a higher rate before he can be trusted completely.

Week 2 vs. Detroit

Charles Johnson played on 98 percent of Minnesota's snaps in Week 1, but his stat line doesn't show it. He finished with just two receptions for 27 yards on three targets. Mike Wallace and tight end Kyle Rudolph had most of the passes thrown their direction.

Johnson still holds value, but he needs more production to be a reliable option. He gets a favorable matchup in Week 2, so maybe this is the week he proves his worth. He should be viewed as a WR3 or WR4.

Week 1 vs. San Francisco

Charles Johnson is an intriguing wideout in 2015. He had a small sample size of success at the end of last season, but now has a little more competition at wideout. The Vikings brought in Mike Wallace and both he and Johnson are listed as the starting receivers in Minnesota.

Johnson has some positive qualities, but there's not too much to get excited about overall. He's a raw receiver in a run-first offense. He should be viewed as a WR3 in a decent matchup against San Francisco.

Fantasy Upside
Charles Johnson emerged late last season as one of Teddy Bridgewater's favorite targets. His breakout performance came in Week 11 when he caught six balls for 87 yards and he averaged nearly 60 yards per game and scored two touchdowns from Week 11 to Week 16. His success has pushed him into the starting lineup this season, and he'll be someone to keep an eye on.

Fantasy Downside
While Johnson's end to the 2014 season was promising, there is still a lot left to be desired. He has only offered seven real games of value in his career. Only once did he go over 100 yards, and he wasn't much of a touchdown threat either. Plus, Mike Wallace was brought over from Miami and will be the No.1 option in the Vikings offense.

Bottom Line
Johnson has value this year, but he is a bit of a gamble. It is hard to know what to expect from him because he has such a small sample size, but he is in a run-first offense with an improving quarterback. He should be viewed as a WR3 for 2015.
