ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Atlanta

Chandler Catanzaro made a 23 yard chip shot field goal last week against the Seahawks, but missed his only other attempt wide right, a 49 yarder. Catanzaro has had a nice season, but the Cardinals offense has struggled at times, and had a really hard time in Seattle.

Expect the offense and Catanzaro to be better against the vulnerable Atlanta defense this week, but with the inconsistency shown by the Cardinals as far as moving the ball is concerned, Catanzaro remains a risky option for fantasy owners to count on. We have him in fringe starter territory in our rankings this week.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Seattle
Chandler Catanzaro has cooled off recently as Arizona has faced some tough defenses. He didn’t get a field goal attempt last week against the Lions, and it’s hard to imagine him getting a lot of opportunities this week against a Seattle team that ranks just outside the top ten in points allowed per game. Plus, the Cardinals will be playing in Seattle, which is a tough place to kick compared to sunny Glendale, AZ. If you can look elsewhere, then this might be a good week to sit the rookie kicker.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Detroit

Chandler Catanzaro had his first missed field goal of his career last week in a victory over the Rams, but it was from 53 yards, and he nailed a 43 yard field goal in the second quarter.

Catanzaro has been a pleasant surprise this year for the Cardinals, and for fantasy owners, but this would be a good week to avoid starting him. The Cardinals lost their starting quarterback for the rest of the season, and they face the league’s best team in points allowed in the Detroit Lions. Catanzaro should probably be on your bench this week.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. St. Louis

Chandler Catanzaro didn’t get a chance to kick any field goals last week as the Cardinals scored four touchdowns and defeated the Dallas Cowboys. Catanzaro made all of his extra point attempts however, and he remains perfect on the season as a nice surprise for the Cardinals.

This week, he’ll face a Rams team that ranks in the bottom six in points allowed per game, and he remains a solid, but not spectacular option on an inconsistent Cardinals offense. While not an elite option, Catanzaro is a decent week-to-week choice, and we have him as a borderline starter this week.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Dallas

Chandler Catanzaro made his only field goal attempt last week against the Eagles, a 28 yard chip shot to tie the game early in the fourth quarter. He’s fourth in the league in field goals made, and he remains a perfect 16 for 16 on the season.

This week, Catanzaro has a tougher matchup against the Cowboys, who are allowing the ninth least points per game this year behind a surprisingly effective bend-don’t-break defense installed by new coordinator Rod Marinelli. With a tougher matchup, Catanzaro is a borderline starter this week, but as long as the rookie continues to get opportunities and nail them, he’s worth having as a viable week-to-week starter.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Philadelphia

Chandler Catanzaro nailed his only attempt, a 41 yard field goal in a win over the Raiders last week. The rookie is still batting a thousand as we approach mid-season and is tied for second place in the league in field goals made. With the Cardinals offense improving under a healthy Carson Palmer, Catanzaro is becoming more and more valuable.

This week, the Cardinals will face an Eagles team that has been up and down all season, but has a defense that ranks middle of the pack at 22 points allowed per game. The Cardinals should be able to move the ball against them, which may bode well for the rookie kicker. Catanzaro has entered every week starter territory, and he’s a top 10 option again this week.

ARI K Chandler Catanzaro - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Chandler Catanzaro vs. Oakland

Chandler Catanzaro is now second in the league in field goals made, and is a perfect 14 for 14 after nailing another three last week against Washington, including a 49 yarder. Catanzaro is making his mark as a rookie kicker and is benefiting from a well-coached Cardinals team that now sits in sole possession of the NFC West lead.

Against the Raiders this weekend, fantasy owners should go after Catanzaro and get him in their lineup. We have him ranked as a top ten start and the Raiders have been dismal on defense all year. Should be a good day for the Arizona offense.
