CLE QB Case Keenum - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Raiders

Case Keenum takes over as the starter with Baker Mayfield (COVID-19) out of the lineup. Keenum completed 21-of-33 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown in his lone start this season. We can expect a run-heavy approach, especially with several Browns' pass-catchers out of the lineup for this game.

Keenum goes up against a Raiders defense that ranks 29th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks, so this is a good matchup on paper. However, there's no way you can trust Keenum as a streamer unless it's a SuperFlex league. There's simply not enough projected volume here.

CLE QB Case Keenum - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Steelers

It's currently unclear who will be the starting quarterback for the Browns this week. While Baker Mayfield got in a limited practice on Thursday, Case Keenum remains the safer bet to be under center on Sunday. Keenum completed 21-of-33 passes for 199 yards (6.0 Y/A) with one touchdown in his first start against the Broncos. Keenum is merely a game manager in a run-heavy offense.

The veteran goes up against the Steelers this week, who rank 10th in aFPA allowed to quarterbacks. Pittsburgh also ranks 13th in pass DVOA, so this is a tough matchup. Keenum isn't worth considering as a streamer unless you're completely desperate in a SuperFlex league. Expect the Browns to lean on Nick Chubb and the running game in this one, even if Mayfield is able to play.

CLE QB Case Keenum - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Broncos

Case Keenum takes over as starting quarterback with Baker Mayfield out for this game. The last time we saw Keenum was back in 2019 with Washington, where he completed 64.8% of his passes for 1,707 yards (6.9 yards per attempt) with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. It's going to be tough for Keenum to do much without his two star running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Wideouts Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. have a chance to suit up, but their statuses are unclear.

Keenum takes on a Broncos defense that ranks ninth in aFPA to quarterbacks. The Browns could also be without tackle Jedrick Wills and center J.C. Tretter, which is bad news against Von Miller and company. Keenum is not a viable streamer this week because of the tough matchup and limited weapons. The Browns will likely try to have him manage the game while leaning on their running game.

WAS QB Case Keenum - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Dallas Cowboys

Case Keenum is back as Washington's starter after rookie Dwayne Haskins suffered an injury last week. Keenum actually looked good for a while to start the season, and looked decent in mop-up duty last week, scoring two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing). He even gets a favorable matchup against the Cowboys this week, a team he scored two touchdowns against earlier in the season. Keenum could be a value play in DFS lineups, but we wouldn't trust him as your starter in the fantasy football championship.

WAS QB Case Keenum - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Buffalo Bills

Case Keenum has not played well in recent weeks, averaging 124 passing yards in the last three games. He's also not scored in two of those three games. So on a base level, Keenum is a poor choice, but he's an even worse option this week in a tough matchup against the Bills who are allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. Keenum is among the worst QB options this week.

WAS QB Case Keenum - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Minnesota Vikings

Case Keenum had some strong games to start the 2019 season, but he's been very cold as of late. Last week in a rainy game he was terrible, finishing with just 77 passing yards. Washington's passing leaders over the past four games have all finished below 200 passing yards. Aside from Terry McLaurin, there isn't much production in these receiving corps. Keenum gets a decent matchup against Minnesota this week, but he's not a recommended fantasy play. There are many better options this week.

WAS QB Case Keenum - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Case Keenum was unable to get much going last week against the Dolphins, finishing with just 166 passing yards. He did score twice, but the new Redskins coaching staff wants to run the ball more and that's exactly what they did. This week, Keenum gets a brutal matchup against the 49ers who are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks (7.86). If you want to win your matchup, pick a different QB this week.
