Scouting report

by Bill Riccette

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Buccaneers

Hill saw 10 touches against the Chiefs in Week 16, his most since Week 12. But with the way Atlanta has rotated their running backs, Hill is an extreme desperation play in Week 17 against the strong Buccaneers defense.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Saints

In Todd Gurley's absence, Brian Hill and Ito Smith nearly split the work, receiving just about the same number of rushing attempts. Hill's edge comes from playing 11 more snaps on offense than Smith. Not much of an edge, but Hill was always tending to run as the No. 2 back behind Gurley.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Broncos

Hill actually saw his highest amount of playing time in Week 8 with 25/70 offensive snaps (35.7 percent). That turned into 64 total yards on 13 touches. Hill is still looking for this first touchdown since Week 3. Todd Gurley got a bit of rest from the mini-bye so Hill might slide back to his handful of touches a game and remain a desperation play in fantasy.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Panthers

Hill continues to get just enough work to be considered a very deep play for those with players on byes, particularly players such as Antonio Gibson, Kenyan Drake and James Robinson. Other than that, he's a touchdown-dependent fantasy option, even against the Panthers.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Lions

Hill saw his most work in Week 6 with 10 carries and 12 total touches. Hill is firmly established as the No. 2 back in Atlanta but continues to be a desperation play. But if there's a week Hill might vulture a touchdown, it's Week 7 against one of the league's worst run defenses in Detroit.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Vikings

Brian Hill is seeing a handful of touches and seeing just enough work to be a deep flex option, especially for those who have backs on byes this week like Alvin Kamara and Josh Jacobs. He'll get you a couple of catches, as he has been all season long. With four teams on a bye, you could do a lot worse than Hill, even behind Todd Gurley. It's a gamble, but what really hasn't been this year?

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Panthers

Hill has become the top pass-catching back in Atlanta. That's not saying much, however, as Hill has just seven catches this season, but that is still three more than Gurley's four. So far, Week 3 is a bit of an outliner for Hill but he may steal a score and some catches against the Panthers.
